  • 8+ years of software development experience.
  • 4+ years of services development experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in Computer Science or Engineering discipline.

  • Experience in C# programming language.

  • Experience with developing software components for Public Key Infrastructure.

  • Experience with owning or driving large scale services, components or feature areas.

  • Demonstrated excellence in coding, code review and technical communication documentation.

  • Experience with ASP.NET MVC Core.

  • Experience with OCSP and Certificate Transparency.

  • Experience with SSL/TLS.

  • Experience optimizing automation, reliability and monitoring of LiveSite.

  • Strong problem solving and analytical ability

The Azure Certificate Services team is investing in building Azure Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) which is aimed at operating as a public Certificate Authority. Digital certificate is a cornerstone for security. Azure Certificate Service is a foundation service at the core of Azure aimed at making Azure the most secure cloud computing environment. This service needs to be up and running even during global Azure outage. At its nascent stage, the Azure Certificate Services team is seeking a talented engineer who is excited to take all the challenges of growing and maturing a core Azure service, transform how rest of the Azure services manage, distribute and automate handling of digital certificates. The vision of Azure Certificate Service is to act as a Registration Authority in the Azure PKI. The Azure PKI is a critical component for isolating Azure services from being managed by Microsoft's corporate identities.

  • Create and execute on the development plan for building Azure Public Key Infrastructure as a public Certificate Authority

  • Create and execute on the development plan for building OneCert as the Registration Authority in the Azure PKI.

  • Scale and performance testing as OneCert is expanded to all Azure services.

  • Security detection and monitoring.

  • Reducing onboarding cost along with Live Site improvements.

  • Build and innovate critical cloud security services powering the future of secure cloud computing.

  • Create and manage security services with an Assume Breach mindset enabling detection and response of targeted attacks and persistent adversaries.

  • Analyze complex authorization and authentication problems, identify and design solutions, and make high-impact improvements in close collaboration with other engineers both across the C+E division and throughout Microsoft.

Do you want to run and grow a vulnerability research team dedicated to securing several Windows components? The Windows vulnerability research team is looking for a talented security technical lead. This lead will drive vision and roadmap for major security initiatives around vulnerability research and help secure pieces of the Windows operating system. The vulnerability research team for Windows is one of the teams responsible for securing the Windows client and server operating systems, used by millions of customers every day, along with Microsoft devices such as Xbox, HoloLens and Surface. This team also reviews Azure components running on top of Windows, in addition to helping secure uses of Linux within Microsoft. This team performs security design reviews, code reviews, and penetration testing on key Windows features and devices to make sure they meet the highest possible security standards. In this role, you will run a team of talented security engineers and be involved in creating new functions that will drive security, scale, and coverage across Windows, Azure and Linux components. The ideal candidate will be an OS/application security subject matter expert with experience building and leading highly technical security teams. Additionally, candidates should have hands-on experience with C/C++ vulnerability research (code audit, writing fuzzers, finding creative ways to break assumptions), a clear understanding of OS security fundamentals, solid computer science skills, and a passion for keeping Microsoft customers safe.
