Are you an IT Executive who has led successful large-scale software development and business-IT transformation initiatives at a Financial Services firm? Are you looking to scale that expertise across a number of different financial services companies? Financial Institutions and Financial Services Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) are rebuilding business critical applications to fully leverage the AWS platform. At Amazon Web Services (AWS) we're hiring senior-level Engagement Managers in our Global Financial Services (GFS) Professional Services Practice to help lead application software development engagements with the world's largest Financial Institutions and Financial Services ISVs. We are seeking outcome driven and customer obsessed experts who have managed complex customer engagements.

Engagement Managers plan and oversee the preparation and dissemination of project communications and they interface with various customer and internal AWS stakeholders. They actively manage project goals and drive teams to achieve customers' business outcomes by managing issues, risks, decisions, and action items. As such, we seek results-oriented individuals with outstanding written and verbal communication skills who can communicate equally well with C-level executives and technical team members.

Ideal candidates will have experience in:

  • Financial Services domains: One or more business areas such as Core Banking, Originations, on-boarding/KYC, Financial Crime, Enterprise Risk Analytics, Market Risk, Credit Risk, Regulatory reporting, Capital Markets trading, HPC for financial services, Finance and Treasury, and Customer profitability.

  • Project Management: Project management methods, best practices and tools for complex, cloud application software development.

  • Cloud Technologies: Cloud infrastructure and security technology principles and services.

  • Software Development: Prior experience with large-scale software development.

  • Enterprise Architecture: Prior experience developing software and technology architecture standards and processes at an enterprise level.

  • 15+ years' experience developing Financial Industry Solutions or delivery of IT consulting projects

  • 2+ years' experience working on cloud-based software development projects.

  • Experience in presenting to C-level executives (CIO, CEO, CTO, CDO, CCO, CISO, etc.) as well as to technical subject matter experts.

  • Bachelor's Degree in STEM or equivalent experience

  • Ability to travel to client locations worldwide to deliver professional services as needed.

  • Has at least one active project management related certification (e.g., SAFE, APM, CSM, PMI-ACP, PRINCE2)

  • Prior experience as a software developer and/or development team lead using for transactional or analytical applications in Financial Services.

  • AWS Experience and Certifications.

  • Managed technical projects consisting of 15 or more people totaling over $1,000,000 budget

  • Managed and delivered IT engagements for one or more banks, insurance companies and/or financial services software vendors.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) has an opportunity for a Principal Business Development leader that will own strategic relationships between AWS and a select number of top-tier Private Equity (PE) firms worldwide. You will be the single-threaded leader for this relationship within AWS and will build the executive relationships within these PE firms to influence their decision making on technology, driving utilization of AWS as the basis for their portfolio companies' infrastructure. You will shape and deliver on a strategy to build mind share and broad use of Amazon's cloud computing platform within the PE firms and their portfolio companies. You will partner with AWS sales teams to drive day-to-day interactions with these accounts and leverage dedicated resources for PE that include technical architects, professional services, economic modeling and performance optimization experts. You'll also work closely with AWS strategic corporate development, product management, partner and marketing teams on strategic initiatives that tie in to the PE community. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated track record at establishing and developing engagement at the CxO level with customers along with the technical depth to discuss AWS services, architecture patterns and technology trends with chief architects and other technology leaders. Experience/exposure to private equity is desirable but not a requirement. A keen sense of ownership, drive, and strong oral and written communication skill are a must. * Possess 7-10+ years of business development, consulting or program/product management experience * 5+ Years of experience with sales, account management or client management in either: startups, small to medium businesses (SMBs), enterprise or private equity firms * 5+ Years of experience working with senior or C-level executives, * Working knowledge of software development practices and data center / infrastructure / networking technologies highly desired * MBA or equivalent relative business experience * Experience within and knowledge of the PE industry * Demonstrated ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations including sales, marketing, business development, partners and training * Some relevant business level technical knowledge is desired, such as: database systems, core distributed computing concepts, fundamentals of cloud computing and virtualization, storage systems, content delivery networks (CDNs) etc. with ability to go deep enough on technical aspects to differentiate between varied AWS services Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
