Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Principal / Senior Principal Engineer System Test to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Test and Evaluation organization. This role is located in Melbourne, FL.

This requisition may be filled at the Principal OR Senior Principal level based on qualifications, below

In this role, the successful candidate will provide support for all system test activities, to include test planning, creation of required test procedures, post test data analysis, creation of problem reports, and reporting on test results. Candidate shall display professionalism, leadership, have a strong work ethic, work well with others, and be able to function as member of the System Test Team.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in development, execution and peer review of test procedures

  • Participate in both Formal and Non-Formal Test execution events

  • Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers

  • Participate in test planning, problem report validation testing, and post testing data analysis

  • Provide support in the creation of required test artifacts used for official PCM and SRM releases to our customer

  • Lead potential moderate size test efforts and events in support of System Test leadership

  • Attend and participate in all E2D System Test meetings

  • Working in a dynamic environment

Basic Qualifications (Principal):

  • Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline AND 5 years of related professional/military experience to include a background in Test Engineering OR a Master of Science degree in a STEM discipline AND 3 years of related professional/military experience to include a background in Test Engineering, OR a STEM Ph.D. AND 0 years of related professional/military experience to include a background in Test Engineering

  • Must have an active DoD Secret or higher clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)

  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance prior to the commencement of employment

  • Must be willing and able to support multiple shifts and odd hours to accommodate testing efforts and lab schedules as required by the company

Basic Qualifications (Senior Principal):

  • Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline AND 9 years of related professional/military experience to include a background in Test Engineering OR a Master of Science degree in a STEM discipline AND 7 years of related professional/military experience to include a background in Test Engineering, OR a STEM Ph.D. AND 4 years of related professional/military experience to include a background in Test Engineering

  • Must have an active DoD Secret or higher clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)

  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance prior to the commencement of employment

  • Must be willing and able to support multiple shifts and odd hours to accommodate testing efforts and lab schedules as required by the company

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience generating technical documents and working with various software/data processing tools such as MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint, and other various programming languages

  • Master of Science Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline

  • Software test automation experience

  • DoD Top Secret Clearance

  • Current program clearance (SAP/PAR)

  • Previous E-2D Hawkeye experience

Salary Range: $92,600.00 - $139,000.00Salary Range 2: $114,900.00 - $172,300.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
