Principal Senior Network Engineer Role: Provide network services support for a large enterprise network of close to 200 sites. Manage major site move and build projects in coordination with the team and the project manager. Assist the Network Analyst with creation of network bandwidth and utilization reports, setting of network monitor thresholds and general oversight of the network health. Respond to operational requests day to day and act as the highest level of escalation for incident resolution. Working closely with the Network Architect, review new technologies and standards and assist with the development of SOP's, runbooks and other Operational resources for the network team. Report regular status of projects and operational issues to the SDM. This Role Performs:

  • Design, analysis, planning, modification and maintenance of the network and security components, including network monitoring systems

  • Management of all network equipment supporting the enterprise for both project and operational requirements

  • Evaluation of new network and security technology

  • Analysis of short/long term capacity needs for switching, routing transmission and signaling

  • Provision of specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture; the provision of information for hardware and software selection; and the selection of tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements

  • Test network and security systems

  • Monitor and resolve network incidents on a 24X7 basis

  • The position maintains technical expertise in all areas of network and security hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, switches, firewalls and gateways



  • Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience ; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience.


  • Must be able to pass a California Department of Justice (DoJ) LiveScan background investigation and a detailed lifestyle law enforcement background interview


  • Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering or related field and a minimum of 9 years of experience on network & cyber security or a Masters Degree and 7 years experience

  • Strong experience with Cisco Systems network, security and datacenter products

  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)

  • Experience designing and deploying wireless technologies

  • Experience managing large site build and move projects

  • Strong background with Service and Change Management


  • Ability to present very complex technical concepts in understandable language

  • Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Demonstrated experience in team leadership

  • Experience with large enterprise network and security design

  • Experience creating and presenting project plans and designs

Your responsibilities will include: * Quality leadership on new product project teams and ensures the Critical to Quality (CTQs) attributes cascading requirements (for user needs to product, process, raw materials and test methods) are established, implemented and met. * Quality leadership on new product validation programs to ensure they are well-defined, executable, meet customer and business needs, and are in compliance with regulatory requirements. * Subject matter expertise in design controls, risk, validation principles, and related statistical techniques. * Partners with new product project teams to ensure compliance with current quality system procedures including risk management, design controls, and process validation. * Ensures effective risk management to prevent failure modes and improve capability of processes * Proactively examines systems, processes, and standards to identify areas for review, change, or elimination. * Owns CAPAs and drives root cause investigations. * Supports the development of more junior staff and advise management on technical matters * Conducts quality evaluation for the development and validation of test methods. * Collaborates with functional business partners to proactively address quality issues during new product development and product verification/validation. Ensures process capability with respect to product specifications. * Adheres to safety and environmental policies and procedures and supports departmental safety and environmental objectives. * Leads/manages validation activities/projects.
