The Reliability Engineer (RE) provides technical and strategic expertise in terms of life cycle asset management and the associated practices to ensure maximum possible equipment performance and minimum asset care and preservation costs. The RE is Responsible for providing reliability engineering support to manufacturing departments with an emphasis on improving equipment Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability. REs work independently or as team members to assess, design, train and implement Reliability Centered Maintenance, Root Cause Analysis, Asset Performance Trending, Preventive Maintenance (PM), Predictive Maintenance (PdM) and reliability continuous improvement programs. The RE leverages continuous improvement tools such as FMEA, RCA, RCM, Total Cost of Ownership, Life Cycle Cost Analysis, and other statistical methods. REs hold expertise in process measurement as it relates to assessing asset performance trends as well as in documenting improvement results including preparing necessary reports, presentations, and training outlines.
Essential Functions And Responsibilities
Process flow and equipment mapping
Reliability Analysis
Developing equipment system and relationship hierarchies
Performing critical asset analysis and determine risk priority values for various equipment
Perform RCM/FMEA for equipment
Develop equipment maintenance plans that contain failure modes mapped to technologies or tasks
Create both predictive and preventive maintenance strategies
Coordinate the implementation of the reliability-based minor projects
Conduct Root Cause Failure Analysis
Define reliability-based queries and reports to support a continuous improvement process
Obsolete Part equivalency reviews
Required Education, Skills, and Experience:
Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or other Technical degree.
Ability to interpret, analyze, and present technical information using practical judgment
Capable of functioning effectively in a team environment and work independently to progress initiatives
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Excellent presentation skills in group settings as well as one-on-one
Knowledge of data gathering and analysis techniques, including statistical analysis
Proficient conducting data analysis and using data analysis software applications
Knowledge of standard quality and reliability tools such as FMEA (Failure Modes Effect Analysis), Weibull Analysis, Root Cause Analysis, and Statistics
