The Process Automation, Distributed Control System product management team is looking for a visionary individual who will shape and define our future software and hardware offerings. As a self-driven technologist who can think outside of the box, you will be working with and motivating product marketing, development and test, manufacturing, global customer support and training teams to deliver valuable products meeting customer needs at an aggressive cost point.

Previous experience in technical management, firmware/software/hardware development, technical sales or product marketing as well as a good understanding of distributed control solutions as applied to the automation market will help drive your success. What will you do? Convert high level business opportunity, provided by the Offer Management team, into a prioritized list of features detailing the specific requirements for the products being developed.

This shall include detailed demo criteria, acceptance criteria, as well as non-functional requirements. Evaluate potential solutions and system architectures and produce recommendations based upon QCDI (Quality, Cost, Delivery and Innovation). Ensure that the form, fit, function of the product meets the market and business need. Define release roadmaps to optimize delivery of value to the market in an incremental and timely manner.

Anticipate 3rd party lifecycles and minimize impact to customer adoption. Work with the Development team to identify sprint deliverables to optimize the development plan. Manage stakeholder teams (internal and external customers) to assist in the definition and evaluation if features.

Coordinate periodic internal demonstrations to gain visibility and steer development activities. Create and deliver presentations and demonstrations of pre-released products to customers during hosted beta sessions. Evaluate and manage pre-release sales requests.

Support training of sales and field teams. Evaluate Product Enhancement Requests from customers for future inclusion into the product line. What skills and capabilities will make you successful?

Ability to think strategically and promote a product vision. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with remote and virtual teams. Execution skills: the ability to motivate collaboration across non-reporting peer teams to deliver on company goals and projects on time and within budget.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail: planning, monitoring and control. Analytical skills and solution focus, judgement, decisiveness and initiative. To assist in successfully executing your programs, you should have an excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps.. What's in it for you?

Minimum Bachelor's Degree in an engineering discipline. A demonstrable track record of success in a similar job role, where product development is market/OEM driven. Knowledge of process automation systems and their application within customer organizations.

Embedded Systems experience. The ability to work together with Marketing to establish a vision and roadmap for our future products, thinking laterally to understand how technologies in other industries can be adapted and applied to the development of new products. Experience in IP generation.
