Principal Product Manager, Platform Services

The Principal Product Manager for Platform Services is responsible for maximizing the value of our cutting-edge software and hardware platform resulting from work from internal and external development and engineering teams. They will play a pivotal role in defining the product strategy, driving its execution, and ensuring the successful delivery of a robust and innovative software platform solution. This position requires a deep understanding of software lifecycle and cloud technologies, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record of delivering successful software products.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop a clear and compelling product vision and strategy for the software platform

• Develop a clear commercial strategy for the product

• Stay informed about industry trends, competitor products, and emerging technologies to drive innovation
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to define and prioritize features for product releases

• Work closely with 3rd party developers and external vendors to coordinate product integrations and discuss commercial aspects
• Create and manage the product roadmap, ensuring alignment with business goals and customer and 3rd party partners needs
• Collaborate with engineering, design, and other teams to deliver high-quality software on time and within budget
• Break down product features into actionable tasks, providing clear requirements and specifications
• Communicate product plans, progress, and outcomes to internal and external stakeholders
• Gather feedback from customers and key stakeholders to inform product decisions
• Conduct market research to identify opportunities and challenges in the cloud software space
• Analyze customer feedback, usage data, and market trends to iterate on the product
• Foster a collaborative and positive working environment across different teams
• Work closely with sales, marketing, and customer support to ensure successful product launches and customer satisfaction
• Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure successful product delivery
• Proactively address issues and challenges that may impact product timelines or quality
• Ensure products that are being created have the long-term operational plan defined

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience in a related field, MBA or advanced degree highly desired
• 12+ years of experience working in Product Development or Product Management roles
• 7+ years of experience working in Cloud Software development or Cloud Software management
• Knowledge of software development lifecycle
• In-depth understanding of IaaS, SaaS and PaaS
• Experience in the airline industry is a plus
• Experience in cellular and satellite connectivity technologies is a plus
• Up to date on current industry trends/tools with respect to modern software development
• Strong understanding of cloud technologies, infrastructure, and deployment models
• Strong understanding of software platform 3rd party development ecosystems, microservice architectures, blue-green deployments and dependency management

Benefits

The starting pay range for this position is $129,000 to $166,000 however, base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge and location.
