Disney Parks, Experiences and Consumer Products (DPECP), a division of the Walt Disney Company, creates world-class digital experiences for Walt Disney World, Disneyland Resort, Hong Kong Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line and Disney Vacation Club. As a Principal Product Designer with DPECP, you will be part of the team responsible for designing products that help our guests gain the most enjoyment from their experiences within our Parks, Resorts and Cruises. You will spend time as a design leader (not manager of people) defining the vision and executing on our most complex projects as a hands-on individual contributor, while guiding other designers on their projects, and the product design discipline. Beyond providing practical and useful solutions, you will craft digital experiences that connect with our guests on an emotional level, delivering designs with the quality and character expected from Disney. You'll approach your work from a multidisciplinary, holistic perspective applying expertise across user experience and interface design to define and design complete product solutions. Responsibilities

  • Design original, useful and elegant digital experiences for guests of Disney Parks and Resorts worldwide

  • Develop a design POV and vision, propose and execute on solutions, and ship products, projects and programs looking to solve a big problem or opportunity area

  • Apply a broad range of capabilities to drive digital product design from concept through execution and final implementation

  • Raise the standard by implementing new product design approaches, design templates and processes for the design team; grow individual designers' multi-disciplinary skills; and provide training situations to share discipline and tool expertise

  • Set up the project, initiative and team for success as a catalyst that continues to inspire, and guides project teams through obstacles

  • Act as a thought and industry leader by setting the highest standard for quality, holistic product thinking and collaboration with other designers, stakeholders and cross-functional teams including product management, technology and consumer insights even beyond project engagement

We are seeking a Principal User Experience (UX) Designer to be responsible for leading the product development team in creating intuitive and innovative user experiences for websites and digital products. The Principal UX Designer will work across the user experience domain, including research (user interviews, ethnography, persona development), design (sketching, group ideation, information architecture, interaction design, prototyping), documentation (wire framing and specification writing), and user testing. In this position you will have the following responsibilities: * Set vision for, and deliver outstanding digital experiences across channels for specific products while solving for some of the most complex problems in digital health. * Expertly translate business requirements into product requirements that create real and enduring value, evidenced by lasting relationships with our consumers. * Lead in the creation and adoption of agile UX processes, and initiatives for improve UX team design processes. * Lead the development and maintenance of design mockups, user flows, wireframe, detailed specifications and other design documents as needed. * Prototype concept designs and validate design direction with appropriate user and stakeholder input. * Plan and attend a wide range of user-centered research projects including usability testing, contextual and stakeholder interviews.
