The Search Customer Experience team is responsible for the customer-facing features, information, and look & feel of search results on desktop, tablet, and mobile devices globally. We are in the Search Organization where we launch new products and innovation on a daily basis.
Our team leverages sophisticated machine learning, data mining, and big data technologies to help customers discover the right products. We run usability studies and obsessively read customer feedback to improve our search experience. We partner with Amazon's category teams, from instant video, Kindle books, and Echo, to apparel, electronics, and groceries. We partner with the teams that power search relevance, query understanding, browse, and product recommendations.
As Principal Product Manager, you'll own the whole page strategy for advertising on Search pages. You will own working backwards from the customer experience to inform how Amazon balances paid and organic content in Search, as well as how to satisfy various advertising customers who bid on impressions and clicks.
You will work with multiple global advertising teams to develop and communicate the multi-year Search Advertising product strategy, and influence our innovation portfolio. You'll identify cutting-edge advertising opportunities in Search to deliver more value to customers and advertisers. You'll drive execution and iteration of your ideas; strategic thinking, creativity, judgment, and negotiation skills are essential in our fast-paced environment.
You will use data to execute in collaboration with the research, design, and the development teams responsible for Search's algorithms, software, and UI. Product managers on our team have driven ideas that have impacted millions of customers. On a day-to-day basis, you'll be part of a close-knit team that is agile, data-driven, and highly collaborative.
Specific duties include:
Be an advocate for customers and advertisers and work backwards from their needs.
Align with senior leaders across Amazon on Search advertising vision, strategy, goals, status, and customer impact.
Manage the advertising product innovation roadmap from inception through implementation; establish success metrics and drive execution.
Understand and explain complex technical issues, discern impact, and communicate them to business partners to drive resolution.
Follow advertising trends and Think Big about innovation.
