The Opportunity


  • Physical design engineer with a focus on Physical Verification

  • Set technical direction for Physical Verification flows and methodology, including EMIR/LVS/DRC/PERC

  • Work with design teams across various disciplines including Physical Design/RTL/Analog to design and verify complex SOCs in cutting edge technology

  • Implement/support designs through all aspects of RTL to GDS implementation (place and route, static timing, physical verification) using industry standard EDA tools.

  • Lead a physical verification team in integrating and verifying hierarchical designs seamlessly into full chip, utilizing a good understanding of global integration flows.

  • Provide technical direction, coaching, and mentoring to employees on your team and others when necessary to achieve successful project outcomes.

  • Write scripts in Perl, Python and TCL to extract data and achieve productivity enhancements through automation.


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related fields and 15+ years of related professional experience.

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related fields with 10-12 years of experience.

  • PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related fields with 8-10 years of experience.

  • Physical design knowledge, from netlist handoff to GDS tape-out including floor planning, place and route, clock tree synthesis, timing closure and physical verification.

  • Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Perl, and/or TCL is required.

  • Diligent, detail-oriented, and able to handle assignments with minimal supervision.

  • Must possess good communication skills, be a self-driven individual and be a good team player.

This engineer will develop and implement the firmware (FW) for interface communications, controls and/or data processing applications. The individual is expected to work in a team environment and on diverse projects. The individual will be required to provide development support throughout the product lifecycle, from initial concept to acceptance delivery to maintenance. U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date. Applicant will work as part of a highly motivated team environment, and will be collaborating with cross-functional project teams making up a larger program or internal research and development efforts. Our engineers are assigned to a manager of approximately 20 employees with similar skills. Each section manager is responsible for their members' performance, career development, and assigning tasks that balance the employees' interests with current needs of the project teams.
