A highly-skilled, senior contributor, accountable for researching, designing and engineering information security technology systems (software and hardware) that specializes in Payment Systems. Utilize in-depth technical/project knowledge and business requirements to design secure solutions to meet customer/client needs while protecting the Bank's assets.

Serve as organization spokesperson on specialized projects. Act as a prime technical lead on large projects that affect the organizations long-term goals and objectives. Exercise independent judgment in methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.

Provide direction and guidance to others in the group. Work under minimal supervision, with general guidance from management.

The team currently has innovation experts from around the research industry asking questions about how we creatively solve for the security challenges of the next 10 years while dealing with a rapidly changing payment landscape such as real time payments. These positions will assist the team to ensure that security and trust is a key tenant in all solutions.

Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.
1.Lead the development and integration of technologies in support of Corporate Information Security (CIS).
2.Partner with architecture and strategy teams on the evaluation, testing, selection, and architectural design of new information security technologies and the integration of existing technologies into new use cases.
3.Develop/invent highly innovative solutions within multiple information security technologies, theories and/or techniques that impact CIS strategy.
4.Develop security designs for systems and networks with multilevel security requirements.
5.Maintain awareness of existing and emerging information security technologies, strategies and trends.
6.Develop risk mitigation plans to resolve vulnerabilities and recommend security changes to systems, as needed.
7.Develop high level design documents for new technologies.
8.Lead the development and maintenance of production support and production hand-off documentation and associated processes.
9.Ensure current-state documentation is accurate and maintained.
10. Build strong partnerships with senior management to drive adoption of CIS strategy across IT and other functions.

Required Skills and Competencies:

1.Bachelor's degree in Information Systems-related field, or equivalent education and related training
2.Ten to Fifteen years of industry-recognized information security experience and technical leadership
3.Strong functional and technical knowledge of information security capabilities with deep expertise in one or more of the following areas: Encryption, Data Security, Application Security, End Point Security, Identity and Access Management, Windows/Unix/Linux Systems Security, Mainframe Security, Perimeter Security, Network Security, Mobility Security, Cloud Security, Cyber Security, Cryptography, or Authentication Systems
4.Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification
5.Strong understanding of service lifecycle management, strategic planning and the cyber security landscape
6.Business acumen and effective communication skills
7.Ability to establish strong relationships with the corresponding technical community
8.Ability to serve as a visionary concerning future technological capabilities and operational scenarios; ability to create new business models and technologies
9.Ability to create change
10. Ability to unify activities within the BB&T technology community, coordinating with other businesses and engineering organizations, as needed
11. Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office software products
12. Ability to travel, occasionally overnight

1.High level of skill in written and verbal communication
2.Knowledge of financial services industry and all applicable regulations and industry standards
3.Information Systems Security Engineering Professional (ISSEP) certification
4.Other security certifications (e.g. Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Security, GIAC (Global Information Assurance Certification) Security Essentials Certification (GSEC), GIAC Certified Enterprise Defender (GCED), Certified Perimeter Protection Analyst (GPPA))

This team is responsible for supporting and managing all production applications hosted in our cloud environment. In conjunction with CloudOps management, Senior CloudOps Engineers will work to shape and define the overall enterprise cloud operations standards and governance, with the goal of ensuring the IT function operates as effectively and efficiently as possible. This organization has a direct impact on Advance Auto Parts' ability to introduce business capabilities at a pace that enables Advance Auto Parts' mission of having a "Passion for Customers. Passion for Yes". The Senior CloudOps Engineer will help design and build our cloud environments as we migrate our traditional on-premise application stacks to a more modern, cloud-based platform. You will be empowered to innovate and contribute to the definition of standards, automation, and processes to enable product teams to release features at whatever pace they feel is necessary to gain or maintain a competitive marketplace advantage. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Leadership role in establishing and delivering best in class operational support for all production cloud-based applications, including: * Monitoring and Alerting strategies and tool sets * Ensuring appropriate on-call coverage and incident response times * Production application deployment strategies such as o Blue Green deployments o A/B Testing o Canary Releases o CI/CD Pipelines, developed in conjunction with the DevOps team * Container orchestration and automation tool selection and implementation, such as o Kubernetes o Docker Swarm o Amazon ECS * Implementation and management of infrastructure as code tools such as o Terraform o CloudFormation * Log retention and rotation strategies and procedures, including regulatory compliance requirements * Implementation of, and adherence to Information Security standards and practices * Develop, document, and standardize preventative maintenance routines to ensure system availability and performance standards, including software and operating system updates and patches * Scaling AWS services in a cost-effective manner to ensure optimal performance * Sizing AWS environments to provide stability and performance as required by the application's tier level and criticality. * Periodic assessment of AWS expenditures and recommendations for capacity planning, pre-payments, or other cost reduction options. Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of relevant education, training and experience * 5+ years in Production Application Support or Infrastructure Engineering * 2+ years of experience in CloudOps in a hands-on and lead role * AWS or Azure experience is required * Experience with modern automation and orchestration technologies such as Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, GIT, Maven, Ant, JIRA, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, etc. is a must * Solid scripting background (Shell, Perl, Python, etc.) is a must * Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills is a must * Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal) across all organizational levels to convey key messages, statuses, and risks is a must * Experience with queuing and message persistence technologies like IBM MQ, Active MQ, SQS is a plus * Solid understanding of Networking concepts (NAT, DNS, routing, etc.), with practical hands-on and administrative experience with network appliances is a plus * Ability to partner with teams with varying levels of technical backgrounds and experiences is a plus * Experience in supporting product / agile development teams is a plus * Experience with other cloud platforms is a plus * Hands-on experience with logging and monitoring tools such as Splunk, AppDynamics, Logstash, CloudTrail.
