Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Principal Mission Assurance Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne, FL.
This position supports the development, modification and application of the engineering assurance/quality principles and processes for the purpose of reducing and/or eliminating escapes or omissions linked to design early in the lifecycle to ensure design integrity and robustness while maintaining efficiency. This role provides Engineering Assurance/Quality Engineering support to Engineering, Manufacturing, Program Management, System Test and many other functions to ensure that quality standards are met.
This position includes verifying test setups and reviewing test procedures to ensure validation of requirements. Candidate must also support various design reviews and testing processes, mechanisms, systems integration and requirements verification. He/she must have skills in performing root cause/corrective action (RCCA).
This job function also provides support to various subcontract management teams in managing the quality aspects of supplier qualification. Candidate will review supplier documentation to verify compliance to quality standards and contractual requirements as they pertain to the equipment being procured. This position requires good organizational and leadership skills to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and to work closely with the IPT leaders and design engineers.
Having a background in Material Review Board (MRB) and laboratory operations is preferred.
Bachelor Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with 5 years of experience in Quality Assurance or related field OR a Masters Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with 3 years of experience in Quality Assurance or related field
Have and Active DoD secret security clearance that has been investigated within the last 6 years, In-Scope.
