Title: Principal Mission and Product Systems Engineer
Position Type: Full Time
Pay Range: $108,000 - $220,000
(Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)

Position Purpose: This Principal Mission and Product Systems Engineer will work with business development in crafting early phase technical alignments and concept development to support new business pursuits. This includes new customer engagement, supporting the concepting of mission level architectures, including leading and/or supporting customers in the mission level design. Core responsibilities include defining mission parameters and deriving driving mission requirements as part of a novel spacecraft and mission development. This role will provide the mission perspective throughout the design lifecycle and assess key mission performance attributes to ensure the company is meeting customer's mission objectives. This role will also support program system engineering thru more traditional responsibilities such as system analysis, and detailed design, analysis, integration, test, verification, and on-orbit operations. This role may also use key insights from business development to help craft product line roadmaps and manage/lead IRAD activities as assigned.
Job Responsibilities:
Develop, allocate, and manage system requirements and verification
Support customers in developing mission architecture parameters and concepts
Identify preferred configurations of hardware to meet customer objectives
Develop and maintain technical budgets for system performance
Author interface control documents, CONOPS definitions, and other system design documents
Lead and facilitate technical exchanges with customers
Work closely with program management office and customers to achieve mission success
Collaborate with other technical program leads and diverse domain expertise
Execute and manage key trades
Provide mentoring for junior Systems Engineers
Travel as required
May include personnel management responsibilities
Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications/Education:
12+ years' experience as a spacecraft systems engineer or subsystem engineer
Experience with all phases of the program life cycle (business development, mission formulation, requirements development and flow-down, integration, test, and verification, and on-orbit operations)
Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Engineering, Science, or a related technical field
Demonstrated responsibility for space hardware missions and ability to effectively work with and communicate with all levels of management and team member contributors on the program
Thorough understanding of the Systems Engineering development lifecycle and change management process
Demonstrated understanding of requirements management, functional requirements parsing, derivation, and allocation; systems design, systems integration, technical risk identification and management strategies, and Verification and Validation (V&V) principles
Demonstrated ability to communicate with technical and non-technical personnel
Experience in Business development roles
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision on projects
Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education
Working Conditions:
This job operates in a professional office environment, but in a manufacturing company. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines. BCT anticipates the application window closing approximately 40 days from the date the notice was posted.
