Oracle's Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) teams are developing Infrastructure-as-a-Service technologies that can operate at a large scale in a multi-tenant cloud environment. We aim to provide customers with the best computing, storage, networking, database, security, and other cloud-based services.

As part of the OCI - File Storage Service team, we are seeking talented engineers who want to solve complex problems in the area of highly available distributed file storage services. Engineers in this role will have a significant impact on the technical and business aspects of the project.

As a Senior/Lead Engineer, you will lead and influence the software architecture and designs in a highly collaborative team, building new features for File Storage Service and operating and growing the current service offering. You should have a deep understanding of distributed systems and be able to architect broad systems interactions while being very hands-on and able to dive deep into any part of the stack and lower-level system interactions. You should value simplicity and scale, work comfortably in a collaborative, agile environment, and be excited to learn.

Basic Qualifications:

• 10+ years experience delivering and operating large-scale, highly available distributed systems.

• Strong knowledge of C/C++ and experience with languages such as Python, Go is a plus.

• Strong demonstrable experience in file systems, storage, and distributed systems

• Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and operating systems

• Working familiarity with file system protocols (NFS v3/v4, SMB), networking protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP), and standard network architectures.

• Knowledge and experience using Linux/Unix operating systems is a plus

• Experience building multi-tenant, virtualized infrastructure is a strong plus.

• Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills using gdb, valgrind, strace, ltrace & static code analyzers

• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders towards achieving success of the task at hand.

• Must have self-motivation to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in C (System Programming), Distributed Systems

• Experience in storage systems and distributed file systems.

• Experience in Infrastructure-as-a-Service, viz. OpenStack, AWS, GCP, Azure or similar Cloud Scale applications.

Education:

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science or related engineering fields.
