Northrop Grumman's Manufacturing Operations Engineering organization is seeking a Manufacturing Automation Engineer to identify, specify, design, implement and maintain industrial automation solutions for a wide range of manufacturing applications. Areas of focus include microelectronics, antenna assembly, test and surface mount technology.

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Develop statements of work for both internal and external suppliers of automation solutions by coordinating across

internal organizations to clearly identify/distill requirements

  • Execute resulting capital projects

  • Develop and implement less complex automation solutions as they arise

MANUMS21007748Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's of Science degree or higher in Engineering or related STEM area plus 5 years of relevant professional experience (3 years with an MS degree)

  • Experience implementing automation solutions in a manufacturing environment

  • Must have fluency in MS Office software applications

  • 3D Solid Modeling experience using a CAD software

  • Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a prerequisite).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to program 6 axis robot (Fanuc preferred)

  • Knowledge of PLC programming

  • Design for Automation experience

  • Virtual commissioning experience

Salary Range: 87200 - 130800

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.

Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures and tools throughout the system development life cycle to support the generation of engineering applications and products such as laboratory electronic warfare (EW) and Range training and simulation systems. Interfaces with customers, suppliers, application users and other technical and support personnel.
