Job Summary

Directs the development and implementation of activities in production area(s) to ensure timely, high quality production at the lowest cost consistent with the quality requirements. Implements production plans and provides feedback around product introduction, equipment efficiency, materials supply constraints, schedules and staffing requirements to meet given product objectives.

Job Responsibilities

  • Holds accountability for meeting given production goals in a timely and accurate manner for a set of product lines.

  • Implements production plans and provides feedback to Director around product introduction, equipment efficiency, materials supply constraints, schedules and staffing requirements to meet given operational objectives and business unit goals.

  • Directs the implementation of activities in production areas to ensure timely, high quality production at the lowest cost consistent with the quality requirements.

  • Provides focus to the production team to execute to quality, schedule and cost expectations for the product lines or family of products.

  • Implements annual operating plan, operating budget and capital budgets. Defines priorities within the framework given to implement the most efficient and effective operating plan for the site. Plans staffing and expenditures around priorities.

  • Serves as a champion for quality improvement, Lean and Six Sigma programs at the site. Accountable for reduction of cost and waste within product lines. Improves productivity by implementing best practices.

  • Responsible for schedules and expenditures for direct and indirect labor. Accomplishes results through subordinate managers and employees by establishing operational objectives, work plans and delegating assignments.

  • Responsible for managing the department and all projects and product lines assigned to the department. Communicates goals and strategies to a large workforce, which may include represented and unrepresented components. Directs management team for a set of product lines or family of products. Identifies and develops leadership within the team. Selects, develops and manages the performance of the management team members.

  • Hosts and interacts with internal customers during site visits and product line meetings.

  • Oversees deployment of environmental, health and safety policies and procedures for the product line. Ensures workplace training and safety plans are fully implemented. Ensures the area complies with OSHA, EPA and other safety and health requirements.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in appropriate discipline or in the absence of a degree six years of related experience

US Citizenship or Permanent Residence is required. Candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of leadership experience as well as experience in Aerospace

Acclarent's initial focus is onachieving the goals of sinus surgery with novel, endoscopic, catheter-basedtools - Balloon Sinuplasty™ devices. Through the Balloon Sinuplasty™ technologyand our Relieva® product portfolio we offer ENT patients another option toconventional endoscopic surgical technologies. FDA clearances for these deviceswere completed in 2005 and the products were commercially launched in the USthat same year. Through our core technologies and commitment to innovation,Acclarent will continue to advance novel devices in all areas of ENT. As a Principal Engineer, you will manage a wide variety oftechnical tasks and projects in the development of new products andmanufacturing processes, as well as the support of commercially launchedproducts. You will be a leader within the Acclarent supply chain andengineering group and a key member of Acclarent's medical device productdevelopment teams. Key Responsibilities: * Servesas a core team member and supply chain representative on Acclarent new productdevelopment teams * Contributesto and develops strategy for new product concepts, supply chain strategy, andprocesses and techniques to ensure that products meet customer's needs and arehigh quality and low-cost product * Leadsdesign for manufacturability and design for assembly activities * Drivesand assists with execution of supplier selection and development strategies. * ProcessQualification execution, coordination and documentation (IQ, OQ, PQ) * Worksclosely with other supply chain functions and external partners to transferproducts to manufacturing and ensure a robust launch. * Review,Update and Development of Quality System Documentation (SOPs, WorkInstructions, protocols, reports, process documentation, PFMEAs, test methodvalidations, change requests) * Investigation,Root Cause Identification and Corrective Activity implementation for CAPAsand/or Non-Conformances (NCs) * Writestest protocols and reports associated with transfer to manufacturing * LifeCycle Engineering activities including Design Change Plan documentation andexecution for existing processes and products * Servesas the primary point of contact for supply chain disruptions related totechnical issues * Projectplanning and management documentation development along with periodic statuscommunication presentations. Plans, schedules and completes projects in anaggressive manner * Otherresponsibilities as required or assigned by manager Qualifications * A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required.
