Northrop Grumman Enterprise Services is seeking a well-qualified Linux Systems Administrator to join its dynamic team of technical professionals in the Melbourne, FL area. Roles and responsibilities include:

  • Perform duties as a Linux System Administrator for a classified government contract

  • Managing and maintaining secure, minimally-interrupted operations of Linux servers and workstations

  • Supporting bare-metal and virtual machines

  • Installing, hardening and patching Linux operating systems

  • Developing and documenting technical procedures

  • Able to partition disks, create logical volumes, create file systems and mount file systems in Linux environments

  • Read, modify and create shell script and scripts in various other languages

  • Understand basic LDAP and DNS concepts and be able to query these services for information and troubleshoot issues in Linux environments

  • Learn new technologies on own and work effectively independently, while still coordinating actions as required

  • Install and configure COTS software, and perform configuration and maintenance in Linux environments

  • Interact with and successfully utilize boards-of-approval to maintain required security controls and configuration management

  • Perform technical research on Information Technology topics, as requested, and produce presentations and recommendations

  • Occasional travel to customer sites or other Northrop Grumman sites in support of troubleshooting, testing, and deployment activities

  • Coordinating actions with peer system administrators, network administrators, security teams, software teams and hardware engineers

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 5 years of related experience or 9 years of related experience in lieu of degree.

  • Experience installing/configuring and managing Linux OS in a

  • Current Security CE or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire

  • Active DoD Secret Security Clearance with ability to maintain

  • Ability to be cleared to special access programs

  • Ability to lift equipment weighing up to 40 pounds

  • Ability to work after hours and weekends as needed

  • US citizenship is required to maintain security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in IS related field

  • Experience operating under and managing systems within NISPOM Chapter 8, DCID 6/3-ICD 503, RMF, STIG, JAFAN, or JSIG

  • Redhat System Administration certification(s)

  • Experience with NAS storage device (preferably NetApp) administration (ONTAP 8.x or higher ; CDOT)

  • Solid understanding of Enterprise-level storage concepts to include all commonly-used RAID-levels

  • Redhat Satellite Server (version 5 and version 6) configuration and usage experience

  • Solid understanding of remediating security vulnerabilities /Experience hardening Redhat systems in accordance with RMF and STIGs

  • Identity Management (Single Sign-On) experience

  • VMware and ESXi (6.x or higher) configuration and management experience

  • Experience with host-based firewall implementations and configuration (Redhat "iptables")

  • Experience building custom "rpm" software packages for Redhat platforms

  • Experience administering Windows OS versions 7, 10, 2008, 2012 or 2016 OS

  • Active Top Secret/SCI Clearance

  • DoD 8570 Certification in a primary OS (Windows, Linux, Cisco)

  • Currently valid Security CE, CASP, CISSP or similar security certification

Position will be located in Melbourne FL and will require a motivated self-starter to assist with the stand up and migration of a current datacenter to new location at same site. Roles and responsibilities include: * Works under minimal supervision and independently determines and develops approach to solutions. * Rack computing server hardware, storage arrays, network equipment and associated elements in a raised floor datacenter. * Efficiently install and label Cat6 cabling between networked devices and switch infrastructure in a full sized rack configuration. * Build and configure Linux physical and virtual servers utilizing latest versions of RHEL Operating systems. * Configure and present appropriate NAS/SAN storage to associated RHEL systems with appropriate permissions and attributes. * Install and configure VMWare ESXi and/or Horizon View infrastructure and associated elements. * Install required updates, packages and elements required for full functionality of RHEL Systems in a domain architecture. * Ensure all necessary administration tasks are completed; direct others as necessary. * Analyze internal or external customer requirements and determine equipment and software requirements for solutions. * Recommend and implement system enhancements that will improve the performance and reliability of the system including upgrades, monitoring, problem resolution, and configuration management. * Create user and computer accounts and modify file permissions and security access lists. * Develop and document technical processes and procedures as needed. * Remediate security vulnerabilities as identified and required for compliance. * Adhere to strict Information Systems security guidelines in all cases and prepare security documentation as required. * Report project status and communicate effectively at all levels of the organization. Basic Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree with 5 years of related experience; OR Master's degree with 3 years of related experience; OR an Associate's degree with 7 years of related experience; OR a High School Diploma/GED with 9 years of related experience. * Experience installing, configuring and administering Linux RHEL Server operating systems in a windows domain. * Current Security CE or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire. * Active DoD Secret Clearance with ability to maintain. * Ability to lift equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. * Ability to work after hours and weekends as needed. * US citizenship is required. Preferred Qualifications: * Masters degree in IS related field. * Experience with SAN/NAS storage architecture and the administration of same. * Experience operating under and managing systems within NISPOM Chapter 8, DCID 6/3-ICD 503, RMF, STIG, JAFAN, or JSIG. * Strong understanding of basic networking including subnets, routing and VLANS; Cisco experience and/or certification a plus. * Experience with current versions of VMWare ESXi and/or Horizon View. * Experience with Windows Server management and Windows domain architecture. * Currently valid Security CE, CASP, CISSP or similar security certification. * Knowledge of environmental monitoring tools (HBSS/Solar Winds/Splunk). * Creation and deployment of system images in an enterprise environment. * Experience with Certification & Accreditation process. * DoD 8570 Certification in a primary OS (Windows, Linux, Cisco). * Advanced Scripting and/or automation. * Active TS/SCI Clearance.
