SUMMARY

As a key member of the Data Hub & Analytics team, create value by expanding the capabilities of the data analytics/science ecosystem and delivering actionable insight.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop data product for Retail Brokerage and Institutional Services

  • Provide solution to on-demand analytics problems, applying advanced analytical methods as needed

  • Measure the quality and integrity of collected data

  • Identify patterns in large, complex data set

  • Build and prototype analytics pipelines iteratively to provide insights at scale

  • Integrate analytics solution with broad data ecosystem

  • Interact cross-functionally, making business recommendations with effective presentations of findings at multiple levels of stakeholders through visual displays of quantitative information

  • Provide statistical service for other members of team

  • Research and develop analysis, forecasting, and optimization methods to help improving the data science infrastructure

  • Create value from data with actionable insight by working with various business and technology partners

Basic

  • 3+ years of experience with both statistical modeling and machine learning techniques
  • 3+ of strong statistical background and experience with time series modeling
  • 3+ years of various data analysis packages and libraries like SQL, R, Python, pandas, numpy, dplyr, H2O, etc.
  • BS in Statistics, Math, Science or Engineering

Preferred

  • MS/PhD preferred

  • Experience with Hadoop/Spark based data ecosystem is a strong plus

  • Experience of deep learning is desirable

  • Knowledge of UNIX scripting such as Korn Shell and Python/Perl

  • Motivated and fast in learning new tools and solving problems

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

Compute power requirements of Augmented Reality require custom silicon. FAST is driving the state of the art forward with breakthrough work in computer vision, machine learning, mixed reality, graphics, displays, and new ways to map the human body. Our chips will enable AR devices where our real and virtual world will mix and match throughout the day. We believe the only way to achieve our goals is to look at the entire stack, from transistor, through architecture to firmware and algorithms. FAST is looking for a Silicon Performance Architecture Intern who will work with a world-class group of engineers. The ideal candidate will understand the performance tradeoffs for various compute, memory and interconnect components in the context of heterogeneous systems with traditional CPU, GPU components and custom accelerators. RESPONSIBILITIES * Carry out performance & power architecture exploration through detailed modeling and analysis of custom compute components, shared interconnect in a heterogeneous multi-agent system and/or shared cache/memory subsystem in a heterogeneous multi-agent system Explore new methodologies to rapidly explore a vast design space from a performance/power standpoint Understand the tradeoffs between general purpose and custom compute mechanisms Understand the data flow paths, working set sizes, access patterns of different general purpose vs. custom compute components QoS, latency and throughput analysis in heterogeneous platforms with multiple agents with competing resource requirements Add support for measuring power in the model MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS * Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a PhD degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field Experience in software design with C++ Experience in performance modeling and architectural exploration methodologies PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * Intent to return to degree-program after the completion of the internship/co-op Experience in tackling and solving challenging performance bottlenecks Experience in the analysis and exploration of heterogeneous multi-agent platforms Interpersonal experience: cross-group and cross-culture collaboration Facebook is committed to providing reasonable accommodations for qualified individuals with disabilities and disabled veterans in our job application procedures.
