Principal Internal Auditor

A Principal Internal Auditor with BCBSWY will have significant professional growth potential via robust opportunities to learn, expand skills, and add value from an individual team/unit level up to organization-wide. Only as an auditor, are you able to step behind the curtain in every area of BCBSWY to analyze behind-the-scenes processes, procedures, policies that make our organization run. Partner with leaders in finding areas of potential risk and assist with the enterprise risk management program. Identify and develop ongoing monitoring metrics plus introduce and maintain dashboards that provide leaders an at-a-glance assessment of areas that may require attention.

One exciting area of opportunity for a Principal Internal Auditor is participating in the adoption and full implementation of the newly acquired AuditBoard OpsAudit tool! As you collaborate on the continued set-up through to full utilization, you will be critical in moving Internal Audit from multiple spreadsheets and MS workbooks to a modern end-to-end audit management platform.

As a member of the BCBSWY Internal Audit Team, there are many opportunities to partner with leaders and employees throughout the organization, serving as a guide and process facilitator to positively move audit activities forward. From developing audit plans to identifying areas of risk, to crafting quality outcome reports and dashboards, you will become knowledgeable in all functional areas of the organization.

To be successful in this role, you need to have a strong understanding of internal and financial controls, plus auditing operations and applicable procedures. You should possess excellent writing skills and be capable of producing accurate reports, advanced-level spreadsheets, and dashboards.

For effective interactions, you'll need solid interpersonal skills. The challenges of the role require strong time management and prioritization capabilities, as well as the ability to positively manage a full range of possible audit and risk related tasks - from the simple to the highly complex.

Minimum qualifications include a bachelor's degree in accounting, business, or related field, a CPA or CIA designation, and 5 years of relevant work experience; specific experience auditing in a corporate environment is beneficial.

This role may require occasional evening and weekend hours and minimal travel, typically training-related.

Our positions are all based in Wyoming. Depending on the department and the position, eligible employees may be offered limited In-Office/WFH flexibility (for those positions that are offered limited WFH, there will be a required number of In-Office days per week/month depending on department). Executive level employees are required to reside full-time in Wyoming.
