Principal, Infrastructure Investments

What can you expect?

  • The Real Assets Team provides clients with investment services across the full spectrum of private real assets investments, including real estate, infrastructure, and opportunistic real assets on both a discretionary and non-discretionary basis.

  • The global 40+ person team is responsible for evaluating real assets markets, identifying investment opportunities, and managing client portfolios.

  • We advise our clients on making debt and equity investments into real assets via private investment vehicles (primary fund investments), co-investments, and secondaries.

  • We also support the firm on broader research and developing firm-wide views on the sector.

  • The Principal, Infrastructure Investments is an integral position the Infrastructure Investment team in North America, covering a broad array of infrastructure investment strategies such as digital, energy transition, transportation assets, and other related sectors.

  • As part of a global investment team, this position will focus on five primary responsibilities: 1) identifying, evaluating, and monitoring private infrastructure investments, 2) researching and opining on real assets trends, 3) serving as a resource to clients; 4) sourcing and executing co-investment transactions; and 5) supporting colleagues and clients on sector related matters and opportunities.

We will count on you to:

  • Lead investment due diligence on investment opportunities (infrastructure primary funds and co-investments) across a variety of sectors, such as transportation, renewables / energy, digital and social infrastructure.

  • Complete written assessments and recommendations utilized by our clients and colleagues to support investment decisions, including due diligence reports, investment memorandums, industry research papers, and other presentations for a wide variety of audiences.

  • Source new investment opportunities by leveraging existing industry relationships, building new relationships, and identifying other creative sourcing channels in collaboration with the broader team.

  • Actively monitor and evaluate investment managers and other investments on an ongoing basis by reviewing periodic reporting, participating in regular monitoring calls, and attending investor meetings.

  • Present at a variety of internal meetings, investment research committee discussions, and marketing presentations.

  • Support real assets and infrastructure business development initiatives.

  • Serve as a resource to colleagues seeking current information on real assets investment opportunities, including data and analysis, comparison to other fund managers, co-investments or secondaries, and the opinion of the investment team.

  • Work directly with clients that are actively building Real Asset portfolios.

What you need to have:

  • 5-8 years of private investment experience, with a significant portion of infrastructure experience.

  • Coinvestment, secondaries and/or direct investment experience a plus.

  • Strong collaborator and work-ethic.

  • Demonstrated qualitative and quantitative analytical skills.

  • Demonstrated relationship-building skills.

  • Strong written and verbal communication and strong business writing skills.

  • Ability and willingness to engage in conversation with managers and references.

  • Willingness and ability to travel.

  • Relevant academic credentials and additional qualifications (e.g., CFA, CAIA).

  • Complementary experience in related areas such as corporate finance, transaction services, and / or asset management.

  • Demonstrated interest in real assets investing.

  • Ability to think "outside the box" to source creative investment ideas.

  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders.

  • Ability to drive the project management process, providing clear direction and managing deadlines, workflow, and quality control for projects.

  • Proactive, entrepreneurial and enthusiastic personality.

The applicable base salary range for this role is $126,000 to $252,000.

The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
