JOB DESCRIPTION:

This is a technical role with the candidate expected to be a critical contributor to building compelling informatics products within Abbott's Diagnostics Division.

The individual will participate the development of system and software architecture to support informatics development programs from concept through launch. She/he will also be responsible for supporting on-market products post-launch.

The individual is responsible for identifying components, frameworks and best-in-class patterns for integration within the software products.

Primary Responsibilities:

The individual will be responsible for design and development of systems for cloud-native applications.

The individual is responsible for executing the various software development lifecycle (SDLC) activities user stories, use cases, software requirements, design, development and design verification (incl. unit, functional and system testing).

She/he is responsible for developing test plans and test cases for software components.

The individual is responsible for root cause analysis including troubleshooting of informatics work products during development and for on-market products.

She/he will be responsible for creating and maintaining documentation for the artifacts created during the SDLC.

The individual will be responsible for ensuring the continuous improvement and evolution of software work products.

The individual should independently conceive plans and implement development artifacts (requirements, analysis, design, documentation and software work products) as-needed to meet program goals.

The individual may travel occasionally per needs of the assigned project.

Position Accountability / Scope

The individual is responsible for the design, development and commercialization of informatics products in compliance with internal policies and procedures, both US and Foreign regulatory standards and requirements.

She/he is accountable for the architecture of one or more informatics products as assigned on individual programs.

The individual is accountable for the successful implementation and support of software architecture on development projects and on-market products.

She/he is accountable for the assessment of technical risks on informatics programs and on-market products.

The individual work closely with software developers on the implementation of the architecture and applications that are deployed on the architecture.

The individual must have prior experience operating in Scrum-based development teams.

She/he will work with a broad range of technologists and support personnel both within and outside of Abbott.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in one or more following disciplines: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Decision Sciences, Symbolic Systems, Informatics, Mathematics, Physics or Information Systems. An advanced degree in one of the above disciplines is preferred.

Minimum of 5 years of experience at a startup, mid- to large-sized corporation is required. The candidate must have experience in developing and launching unique software / informatics products in one of the following industries: healthcare, defense or telecommunications. The candidate must possess good oral and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4-6 years of experience at a startup, mid- to large-sized corporation is required. The candidate must possess good oral and written communication skills.

  • The candidate must have advanced working knowledge in systems programming with Go.

  • Programming experience in C/C++ is desired.

  • The candidate must have advanced knowledge of Unix/Linux & Windows systems and internals

  • Prior experience developing or working with Cloud-based technologies such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, OpenStack, Cloud Foundry or other is highly desired.

  • The candidate must have working knowledge with DevOps automation tools such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, Ansible etc.

  • The candidate must have working knowledge in container and container management technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, DC/OS).

JOB DESCRIPTION: Summary: This Principal Quality Professional position is focused on supporting the implementation of a new post-market surveillance program data solution to meet the requirements for the In-Vitro Diagnostics Regulation (IVDR) into ADD's Quality System. The ideal candidate has experience with communicating business requirements into information technology capabilities, skilled in quantitative analysis and data management and experience in two or more of the following areas; cross-functional process evaluation and implementation, interpreting regulatory requirements, or project management skills. Main Responsibilities: Works with stakeholders to define business requirements, project plans, recommends goals and ensures milestone achievement for major quality/regulatory program to ensure commercialization of diagnostics products in the European Union. Examines relevant data and develops plan for solution implementation supporting the post-market surveillance program data ensuring compliance with IVDR requirements. Solution shall be innovative, thorough, and practical adding long term sustainable value for the ADD quality organization. Utilizes technologies to collect, clean, analyze, predict, and effectively communicate information. Analyzes data, draws insights, and presents results in a cohesive, intuitive, and simplistic manner. Moves own work forward with limited direction through use of IT and analytical frameworks and structure. May provide oversight to one or more QA professionals and/or contractors.
