This position requires a blend of Hardware and Software skills, experience with DC, Analog, Digital or RF test & measurement equipment, and a hands-on approach to troubleshooting complex electronic systems.

Typical Roles and Responsibilities include:

  • Understanding design to cost, scope, and schedule

  • Requirements definition

  • Design of flexible Hardware & Software test solutions together with a team of experts

  • Manufacturing support during the hardware build process

  • Integration of Hardware& Software into a functioning system

  • Certification with the Quality organization

  • System deployment and factory support

  • Software maintenance and / or Hardware refresh initiatives




Basic Qualifications:
B.S. in Engineering with a minimum of 5 years relevant industry experience or M.S. in Engineering with a minimum of 3 years experience

  • The ability to read and interpret specifications, schematics and block diagrams

  • Mix of hardware and software skills

  • Experience in text based programming (e.g. C / C )

  • Background and working knowledge in RF theory and concepts

  • Effective verbal and written communication

  • Experience with test& measurement equipment

  • Minimum active interim Secret Clearance required prior to start

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in Engineering or related STEM discipline

  • Test design and integration background

  • Experience with LabWindows CVI, C / C programming

  • Experience with schematic design tools (e.g. Mentor Graphics, Zuken, etc.)

  • Proficiency with digital, analog & RF test equipment

  • Hands-on troubleshooting of electrical hardware

  • Active higher level clearance

Responsible for review of functional systems. The selected candidate will have strong background working with Naval Technical Authorities. Reading and comprehending ship systems mechanical drawings and work specification is a fundamental requirement/responsibility of this position. This position will have responsibility in planning and execution of ship construction, maintenance and modernization in a design for manufacturing environment Mechanical engineer will work as part of an engineering team to develop electrical and electro-mechanical solutions to a variety of problems Electrical design tasks may involve creating new designs or modifications to existing designs on a variety of naval, launching systems, and missile systems projects. Analysis tasks may include, but not be limited to performing electrical analysis of various components and assemblies across multiple naval and other platforms; performing preliminary and final analyses, part derating, drawing coordination and sign-off, test support and correlation, analysis presentations, and documentation of analyses. The Locale: Middle River is an unincorporated community in Baltimore County, Maryland located on the Chesapeake Bay. It is located 10 minutes from Downtown Baltimore, featuring the famous Inner Harbor, National Aquarium, and Fort McHenry – the birth place of the Star Spangled Banner. Amtrak and the Maryland Transit Administration's MARC Train supply both regular and commuter rail service to Baltimore, Washington, DC and surrounding areas. The Middle River facility is less than an hour away from the Lockheed Martin Corporate offices in Bethesda, MD. Baltimore/Middle River is a centralized location on the eastern seaboard and the Lockheed Martin facility is located less than a mile from the Martin State Airport train station allowing for easy commuting to and from many locations on the east coast. Our facility houses an on-site gym, wellness center, and the Lockheed Martin Federal Credit Union. A one to four hour drive takes you to areas such as Washington, DC, Philadelphia, New York, as well as the Virginia/Maryland Eastern Shore, DelMarVa beaches, the Jersey shore, and West Virginia. Annapolis, Maryland, the state capital, is less than an hour away and while there a visit to the home of the United States Naval Academy or traveling the Baltimore and Annapolis bike/hiking trail is a must. Washington, DC is also within a 2 hour drive, featuring many of the national museums, monuments, and memorials as well as the renowned National Zoological Park. Due to the variety of topography, the state of Maryland is known as America In Miniature. This includes the beaches on the Eastern Shore to the marshlands to the mountains in Western Maryland. There are many activities to participate in including hiking/biking trails, league sports, white water rafting, fishing, skiing/snowboarding to name a few. Basic Qualifications: Skills in Engineering (i.e. Electrical or Electronics, Electromechanical Systems Engineering, Project Engineering, Computer Science or Computer Engineering).
