This position may be for a Sr Financial Analyst or a Principal Financial Analyst depending on the applicants' skills and qualifications

The Woomera program (with close out activities on small Energetics programs) has an immediate opening for a Senior Financial Analyst. Woomera is a watch program within RMD and acts as an arms-length IOT to Raytheon.

The program includes an efficient and effective team that relies on individual drive and integrity for success. Program culture is of high priority in this environment and it is expected that the candidate is capable of building business relationships, trust and rapport with business contacts within not only the program, but also the mission area and customer teams.

Primary Responsibilities:

This candidate will be the primary financial support contact within the program and will require highly motivated individual to drive tasks to completion. Professional and effective communication skills are required due to the frequent interaction with program and functional leadership at varying levels.

The activities will include:

  • Work closely with various functional organizations during the EAC development process; as well as monitoring these organizations performance against agreed upon budgets

  • Providing support of month-end close financial planning activities

  • Frequent interaction with various functions (including Engineering, Supply Chain, and Operations)

  • Budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis of labor and material for current and future orders

  • Internal Earned Value Management reporting, including generation and analysis of monthly program metric

  • Risk and opportunity valuation and impact on contract profitability

  • Ad-hoc requests

Minimum Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or Math or directly related degree and a minimum of 4 years' experience in financial analysis or related financial experience or a related Master Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or Math and 2 years of directly related experience

  • Experience with Excel (pivot tables, advanced formulas) and other Microsoft Office tools (including Word and PowerPoint)

  • Experience using financial software systems

Highly Desired Skills:

  • Experience with Analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills

  • Experience with meeting critical deadlines and develop and apply solutions and process improvements in a fast paced changing business environment

Clear, succinct written and verbal communication skills and experience working within teams

  • Experience in using SAP R/3 Business Systems (APEX, PRISM, Business Warehouse)

  • Working knowledge of financial planning system (RPlan)

  • Defense Contracting Finance work experience

  • Understanding of Accounting standards and practices

  • Experience in contractual EVMS reporting, working in APEX EVMS systems

  • Strong financial analytical skills as well as a fundamental understanding of functional roles and responsibilities

  • Understanding of program control responsibilities which include meeting internal requirements such as coordinating budgetary agreements, preparing EACs and monthly forecasts

  • Experience with project or task financial management and support including analyzing budgets, monitoring actual cost data, developing forecasts, and providing variance analysis

  • Experience with financial evaluations of production programs, engineering projects, and/or process improvements-strong understanding of what is driving variance within data sets

  • Comfort and willingness to taking on new challenges
