PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The Principal Estimator plays a pivotal role in supporting Worley's commitment to delivering sustainable change by leading and managing project estimates. This role focuses on the development of comprehensive estimate plans, collaborating across various disciplines, and ensuring that project estimates align with Worley's ambition to drive sustainability and innovation in the energy, chemicals, and resources sectors. The successful candidate will be integral to the execution of projects that meet global demand while contributing to a more sustainable future.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead the planning, development, and submission of project estimates, ensuring all necessary documentation and information are included to meet project requirements.

• Prepare detailed bid and estimate packages, including basis of estimate documentation, while adhering to project timelines and deliverable expectations.

• Coordinate with engineering teams to manage quantity take-offs and cost estimates for construction elements such as earthworks, concrete, equipment installation, piping, and electrical systems.

• Work closely with procurement and sub-contracts departments to develop RFQ packages, integrating pricing data into project estimates.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams-engineering, construction, human resources, and supply chain-to ensure the incorporation of best practices and execution plans into estimates.

• Oversee estimate review meetings with senior management and project teams, contributing to strategies for winning new bids.

• Serve as the primary point of contact for the estimating department, representing Worley in key meetings and discussions with internal and external stakeholders.

• Ensure estimates are aligned with client-specific pricing requirements, rate tables, and other financial guidelines.

• Support the development of proposal strategies and execution plans that align with Worley's sustainability goals and project objectives.

• Extensive experience (12 years) in estimating within an industrial construction environment, with a strong understanding of large capital projects.

• Educational background in Construction Science, Engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution, or equivalent trade certification/field experience.

• Proficiency in capital cost estimating software such as Aspen and Cleopatra is preferred.

• Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications, perform material take-offs, and translate scopes of work into accurate cost estimates.

• Prior experience with heavy industrial field projects and construction execution is advantageous.

• Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, particularly MS Word and Excel.

• Highly detail-oriented, self-motivated, and capable of managing multiple tasks while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.

• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and communicate effectively across all organizational levels and with clients.

• Excellent time management skills, ensuring adherence to project timelines and deliverables.
