The Role

AspenTech is looking for a strong experienced Principal Stock/Equity and Compensation Analyst to join our Total Rewards team and to help drive growth as our company and HR team are transforming and growing strategically.

Reporting to the Total Rewards function, this role is responsible for activities related to equity and compensation areas. This position will be responsible strategically and administratively for the global equity and compensation programs while coordinating with cross-functional partners to ensure accurate processing, reporting, and disclosure of employee stock transactions.

Please note, this is an onsite based position.

Your Impact

  • Provide internal support for global line management and HR on all issues related to the application of AspenTech's compensation programs.

  • Implement global compensation and equity programs that remain consistent with local market conditions, company-wide financial objectives, business strategy and HR strategy.

  • Lead and conduct detailed analyses to ensure AspenTech's pay programs are competitive with the market while maintaining internal equity.

  • Utilize strong analytical and critical thinking skills to identify trends & patterns in datasets and interpret, synthesize, and communicate the meaning of the data being presented for compensation strategies.

  • Performs other duties and ad hoc projects related to equity and compensation, and reporting as requested.

Equity Responsibilities:

  • Prepare materials on equity plan and grant analysis for executive and Compensation Committee review meetings.

  • Ensure regulatory compliance for Section 16 executives and Board members including preparation and filing of SEC Forms.

  • Partner with Legal to support the preparation of the annual proxy filing, including providing and reviewing equity data and CEO Pay Ratio.

  • End-to-end administration of corporate equity programs and cash-in-lieu bonus across countries which include Stock Options, RSUs, PSUs, and ESPP.

  • Provide reports for financial reporting; a variety of country regulatory filings (for Israel, India and Romania); and executive analysis (beneficial ownership; Proxy; and CD&A).

  • Prepare and/or coordinate with the finance team on equity utilization projections and supporting analysis (i.e. burn rate; overhang; etc.)

  • Administer the ESPP program including processing, semi-annual purchases, program prep-work, enrollment and educational sessions for applicable employees.

  • Manage the equity new hire or off-cycle grant review process including annual equity cycle and communications as required.

  • Prepare monthly/quarterly/annual reconciliations between Fidelity, Workday, Payroll, Finance, transfer agent, etc., and maintain internal SharePoint site with updated materials and resources.

  • Support Sr Stock Plan Administrator with maintenance of company's equity data using Fidelity Stock Plan.

  • Ensure global equity reporting and compliance with international tax and regulatory requirements, including year-end equity related tax filings.

  • Provide reporting for SOX controls; ensure compliance with internal and external audits.

  • Collaborate with various stakeholders such as Finance, Legal and Payroll teams on equity related items as needed, including external consultants.

  • Support day-to-day administration, ad hoc requests/inquiries related to the company's equity programs, including processing new equity awards, exercises, cancellations and repurchases.

  • Development and delivery of employee training and communications.

  • Documentation of processes and recommend improvements for process efficiency.

  • Demonstrates an ability to play the role of a Project Manager and independently run multiple projects simultaneously.

Compensation Responsibilities:

  • Conduct job evaluations using PayFactors tool to benchmark executive and non-executive jobs to provide recommendations to Recruiters and HR Business Partners.

  • Play a key role in compensation administration processes including merit increase, promotion/market adjustment and bonus using Workday.

  • Conduct an annual review of jobs and salary structures to align with the market.

  • Participate annually in salary surveys and maintain PayFactors tool.

  • Build and maintain job architecture related to job functions, job families, job family descriptions, global salary structures with integrity of system of record.

  • Provide functional compensation expertise to HRIS and HR Business Partners on compensation programs and initiatives.

  • Conduct weekly audit for data accuracy and reporting using the system of record.

  • Provide monthly accrual files to finance on bonus and align with the FP&A team.

  • Strong analytical, communication and organization skills.

  • Ability to interact with employees at all levels.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent knowledge gained through work experience required.

  • 8+ years of experience in a similar Compensation and equity roles.

  • Preferred experience with Fidelity (PSW) and Workday

  • Experience with international Stock Option, RSU, PSU and ESPP programs.

  • Excellent Excel, PowerPoint and Project Management skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proven ability to work effectively within a global and matrixed organization.

  • Detailed knowledge of job analysis and job evaluation principles, methods, procedures, and technique.

  • Proven ability to align HR strategy to business needs for a measurable impact.

  • Collaborative and customer-focused with ability to develop strong and influential business relationships.

  • Comfortable to challenge the status quo with a passion to deliver results in a dynamic environment.

  • Certified Equity Professional (CEP) preferred.

  • Familiarity with U.S. federal and state taxation as well as international tax law relating to equity compensation.
