Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) has an opportunity for a Software Quality Engineer 3/4 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in San Diego, CA.

Roles and Responsibilities:

The Software Quality Engineer develops, modifies, applies, and maintains standards for software quality operating methods, processes, systems and procedures.

Conducts software inspection peer review, review software documentation, witness testing, verification and validation.

Implements software quality plan and process, development and maintenance processes and methods.

Ensures measures meet acceptable reliability standards.

Develops overall operating criteria to ensure implementation of the software quality program according to project, process and contract requirements and objectives.

Ensures that project and process control documentation are compliant with software development plan and requirements, objectives and/or contract.

Review software requirements, software design, software coding/unit testing, and formal qualification testing.

Reviews software design, change specifications, and plans against contractual and/or process requirements.

Reviews include applicable specifications, materials, tools, techniques, and methodologies.

Performs or directs verification of software requirement allocations, traceability, and testability.

This position may be filled at a higher level based on the requirements listed below.

Basic Qualifications for a level 3:

Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electromechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or Software related STEM field.

Five years of relevant experience in software development and/or software quality (3 years with a relevant Master's Degree or 0 years with a relevant PhD).

Experience working with C software language.

Must have a currently active DOD secret clearance and be able to receive program special access clearance.

Basic Qualifications for a level 4:

Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electromechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or Software related STEM field.

Nine years of relevant experience in software development and/or software quality.

Experience working with C software language.

Must have a currently active DOD secret clearance and be able to receive program special access clearance.

This role may be filled at a level 3 or a level 4.

Preferred Qualifications:

Active special access clearance.

Experience working as a software quality engineer.

Experience with ClearCase/ClearQuest configuration management tool.

The Communications Business Unit of the Airborne division at Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for you to join our team as a Communications Systems Engineer based out of San Diego, CA. What You'll get to Do: At the Communications Business Unit of the Airborne C4ISR Systems division of Northrop Grumman Mission Systems, we deliver complex equipment to enable modern battlefields and support aviation missions. Our focus is on the world of avionics, radio and electronic warfare product applications to enable networked communications. As part of the corporation's business focus area on Communications, we are the "equipment providers." Our team of communication systems experts is developing next-generation ground radios for land forces, and our Electronic Warfare subject matter experts are creating the next generation of Improvised Explosive Device (IED) countermeasures to keep our soldiers safe when in harm's way. The Comms Systems Engineer (SE) will support a team by leading and performing: technical planning; system design and analysis; requirements development; and the allocation and communication of system requirements to hardware, software, and integration & test. This SE performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detailed trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. This SE will be a lead contributor on our strong SE team, working to ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer and product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Additional possible tasking may include: Analyzes, models, designs and simulates communications systems, subsystems, and algorithms for communication networks, data links, digital radio, battle management, and command and control systems such as wide and local area networks, point-to-point systems, secure systems, signal coding and modulation schema, digital radio/communications technology and network architecture design.
