Qualifications:

Senior Engineer Manufacturing Work Cell Lead

Responsible and accountable for work cell operational execution within assigned work cell. Manage quality, schedule and touch labor performance, and manufacturing operational overhead budgets. Additionally, responsible for meeting internal and external compliance requirements.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide daily work cell direction, establish priorities, and direct operational execution in support of specific program goals.

  • Ensure that accurate manufacturing schedules are available that meet program needs. Monitor performance through weekly status meetings with program teams and program managers.

  • Provide functional lead support for manufacturing engineering, planning, and technicians. For manufacturing engineering, responsibilities include performance management, recognition, coaching/mentoring, participation in the hiring process.

  • Actively engage in the risk management process (risks and opportunities) including continuous improvement projects and initiatives.

  • Embrace and promote use of Lean and 6-sigma tools / techniques where justified.

  • Optimize the work cell organizational structure to ensure maximum effectiveness and efficiency.

  • Maintain work cell strategies and ground rules for success.

  • Engage in strategic planning activities related to assigned work cell.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable Quality Business System (QBS) processes, AS9100, and government DFAR regulations; support related compliance audits

  • Performance metric performance

  • Throughput yield by program

  • On-time deliveries

  • Touch labor performance by program

  • 6S / housekeeping

  • Overhead budget status

  • Daily management board (visual management) updates

  • Staffing needs and participation in the hiring process

  • Maintaining work area sustainment plans

  • TPM Plan

  • Cross Training plans / matrices

  • FOD Plan

  • Monitoring and weekly approval of time charging for direct reports

  • Effective interface with internal/external customers and Ball management

  • Support customer technical exchange meetings, design reviews, and production status meetings with customers

  • Conflict and priority resolution for shops and service centers

  • Support new business proposals with accurate basis-of-estimates for labor and other direct costs

  • Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Support Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.

  • Perform other duties as necessary.

What You'll Need:

  • BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field is required plus 12 or more years of experience.

  • Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master's Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.

Working Conditions:

  • Work is performed in an office, laboratory, production floor, or clean room, outdoors or remote research environment.

  • May occasionally work in production work centers where use of protective equipment and gear is required.

  • May access other facilities in various weather conditions.

  • Travel and local commute between Ball campuses and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.

Security Clearance:

Successful applicant for this position must be eligible to obtain a DoD clearance. A current DoD clearance is not required to be eligible for this position, however the successful applicant will be required to obtain a DoD clearance within a reasonable time after the offer is extended and must be able to maintain the applicable clearance. * US Citizenship is Required

Qualifications: Principal Engineer - Digital and FPGA Design Team Lead for Tactical Electronics What You'll Do: You will perform as a technical contributor <= 50% of the time. Tasks may include, but are not limited to:</p> * Develop system architecture concepts (FPGA, power, peripherals, etc.) for early phases of programs. * Work closely with engineers of other disciplines (RF, Mechanical, Software) to build and design end-to-end Military Tactical systems. * Support proposal and Research & Development (R&D) efforts for Military Tactical programs. * Detailed schematic capture for Printed Wiring Boards (PWBs). * FPGA development for data processing systems (RF, imaging, etc.). The other >= 50% of your time will be performing a functional leader role.
