Principal Engineer

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Principal Engineer to assist Mobile Remote Deposit Capture (MRDC) through a modernization journey, to move to Cloud and implement Experience APIs and Digital Payments Microservices (DPMS). This role is to architect, design, guide, and mentor the team in the modernization effort. The role is crucial to implement a right scalable, resilient, dependable, stable and secure solution. The person will lead the team to implement the end-to-end solution from design till deployment in production and support.

In this role, you will:

• Act as an advisor to leadership to develop or influence applications, network, information security, database, operating systems, or web technologies for highly complex business and technical needs across multiple groups

• Lead the strategy and resolution of highly complex and unique challenges requiring in-depth evaluation across multiple areas or the enterprise, delivering solutions that are long-term, large-scale and require vision, creativity, innovation, advanced analytical and inductive thinking

• Translate advanced technology experience, an in-depth knowledge of the organizations tactical and strategic business objectives, the enterprise technological environment, the organization structure, and strategic technological opportunities and requirements into technical engineering solutions

• Provide vision, direction and expertise to leadership on implementing innovative and significant business solutions

• Maintain knowledge of industry best practices and new technologies and recommends innovations that enhance operations or provide a competitive advantage to the organization

• Strategically engage with all levels of professionals and managers across the enterprise and serve as an expert advisor to leadership

Required Qualifications, US:

• 7+ years of Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
• 7+ years of Proven experience in software development, with a focus on building Cloud applications
• 7+ years of Proficiency in programming Java Spring applications, and experience with relevant frameworks and libraries
• 7+ Solid understanding of cloud technologies, microservices architecture, and API integrations
• 7+ years of experience in designing and deploying Mongo DB solutions for large scale highly available applications
• 5+ years of Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and mentor junior engineers

Required Qualifications, International:

• Experience in Engineering, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

• Enterprise scale Cloud implementation experience is a huge plus specially experience in Financial Retail Channels such as (Payments, ATM, Branch etc.)

• Expertise in designing and developing highly available, scalable, resilient and secured customer facing financial application

• Experience in harnessing the power of Cloud to create cutting edge solutions that push the boundaries of innovation

• Demonstrated experience in Agile development, application design, software development, and testing

• Strong understanding of Design Patterns and Best Practices

• Experience with adaptive and responsive development techniques

• Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy

• Ability to work effectively, as well as independently, in a team environment

• Familiarity with agile development methodologies and a track record of delivering complex projects on time

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field
