Your Role As a Principal Engineer in Systems Engineering, you will apply a solid understanding of standard Systems engineering principles to resolve difficult problems, from conception to final design with team input. Plans, schedules and leads project assignments in the evaluation, selection and adaptation of various engineering techniques, procedures and criteria with minimal guidance. What youll be doing • Embrace accountability for critical decisions and work within area/role of responsibility and expanded complexity. • Apply diligence in resolving the best solution(s) for technical issues.

Focus on critical information without getting bogged down in unnecessary detail. • Apply creative thinking to resolve issues • Build design concepts and research methodologies that best meet current and future customer & business needs for a product or process domain area. • Develop an understanding of clinical and user needs and apply to product realization • Understands and contributes to resolution of competing constraints among inter-related functions • Utilizes creative thinking and teamwork to resolve obstacles. • Contributes to the program/project or the organization’s technical strategy. • Demonstrates good business judgment in balancing budget, profitability and vendor relationships; understands business financials and resulting impacts that decisions have on the business. • Detailed understanding and drives application of phases of life cycle management • Ability to apply life cycle management principles within exploratory, new product development or sustaining phases • Can perform as an independent reviewer in technical and design reviews • Use knowledge of technology, process, and/or therapy domains to drive solutions and product design realization. • Propose and drive solutions to complex technical problems. • Recognize within the immediate team for technical and/or process expertise as evidenced by solicitation for input on a variety of issues. • Engage and respected within the team, for example may act as LSD or PDO for products or as a subject matter expert on technical problems. • Demonstrate understanding of and adherence to FDA, ISO and IEC design control procedures, regulations and standards within area of responsibility/expertise. • Apply risk scenarios and applies technical risk mitigation What youll bring • Display a proven understanding of theories/practices used by other teams outside primary area of expertise. • Ability to convince management on courses of action with minimal assistance using both written and verbal methods. • Optimally operate in and may facilitate multi-functional teams with guidance. • Must be able to provide solutions that reflect understanding business objectives and cost implications. • Bachelors degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Biomedical, Computer Science or related Engineering. Graduate or Post-Graduate degrees are preferred. • 6 yrs of relevant technical experience in Systems Engineering, Prior experience in Renal Care domain is a plus. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses and long-term incentive.
