As a Principal Engineer - NVE PE at Micron Technology, Inc you will prepare for and support the Integration of NAND and other Non-volatile Memory into Micron's End Systems.

  • Work with NVE Product Teams, System Design, and Media Architecture to enable successful integration of media

  • Work with Media Architecture Teams to Validate Algorithms on Silicon

  • Characterize and assess readiness of material for integration

  • Highlight areas of concern for NVE Product and System Teams

  • Provide NVE Product Teams with assessment of system impact for upcoming product changes

  • Provide feedback on lessons learned

  • Create and maintain documentation

  • Assess gaps in component test, error recovery, or component requirements

Ensure that Silicon Meets Product Expectations

  • Work with Media Architecture to determine suitability of media for end system needs and help to fill gaps

  • Work with Media Architecture to act as first line of defense for suspected media fails at system level

  • Work with Product Engineering and System teams on root cause and corrective action for fails to implement fixes for fails (Design or Process)

  • Work with Quality Assurance (QA) Teams on customer returns to identify new tests

  • Work with QA to ensure reliability

Partner with Product and System Engineering Teams

  • Create and deliver presentations

  • Participate in meetings (status updates, Development, Design teams, etc.)

  • Troubleshoot, develop or validate device functionality and usage in systems

  • Evaluate data sheets and provide feedback to Application Engineers

  • Assist with data interpretation

  • Act as NVE first point of contact for system issues

  • Attend technical seminars

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A strong working knowledge of NAND Flash operation.

  • Understanding of MOSFET transistor operation.

  • Experience performing semiconductor electrical failure analysis.

  • Understanding of programming, erasing, and read operations in Non-Volatile Memory Operations.

  • Experience working with Non-Volatile Memory Systems.

  • Experience with CMOS logic.

  • Experience with data collection and analysis.

  • Experience designing and carrying out experiments to answer technical issues.

  • Must be available to work evenings and weekends, if necessary.

Hours of work: Usually 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday- also must be willing to work evenings and weekends when necessary

VIEW JOBS 4/12/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-07-11T00:00 Req Id: 131837 As an Engineer - Non-Volatile Memory Engineering (NVE) Product Engineer (PE) at Micron Technology, Inc., you will be responsible for developing, validating, configuring, characterizing, and qualifying new non-volatile 3D-NAND flash memory products. You will also enable volume manufacturing and coordinate test and analysis resources over the lifecycle of the product. In the pre-Simulation (Si) phase, you will run test mode and customer operation simulations, determine preliminary configuration of the product, and create and maintain design documentation to prepare for Si. In the post-Si phase, you will analyze parametric/test/characterization data, determine configuration of product to maximize performance/yield/reliability, and debug/solve yield, quality and reliability failures. In this role, you will also work with various Engineering and Manufacturing groups to troubleshoot, develop and validate device testing programs. Responsibilities also include identifying and validating lab equipment needs and identifying and/or modifying tests for customer returns to meet specific product requirements. Minimum Qualifications: * Knowledge or experience with semiconductor device physics. * Knowledge or experience with diodes, specifically with how the depletion region changes in a diode when different voltage biases are applied. * Knowledge or experience with MOSFETs, specifically in the three regions of operation for a MOS device. * Knowledge or experience with MOSFET operation, including why pinchoff takes place in a CMOS device. * Knowledge or experience in logic design, and in state machines, and what a state machine is used for. * Knowledge or experience with logic circuits including the structure of a simple ring oscillator circuit. * Knowledge or experience in statistics, including in the mean, median, sigma, standard deviation, and mode of a distribution of values, and 3-sigma events. * Knowledge or experience with software programming and software programming loops including what loops are available in C. * Knowledge or experience in software algorithms, including sorting algorithms. * Knowledge or experience in the use of bench test equipment (oscilloscope, logic analyzer) and engineering test equipment * Knowledge or experience with C or C++ programming. * Knowledge or experience with CMOS device testing methods. * Knowledge or experience with various memory types, specifically an understanding of different memory devices such as Flash, DRAMs and SRAMs. * Must be willing to work evenings and weekends, when necessary.
