The Intel Visual Cloud is a set of emerging workloads in the data center that provides compelling, immersive visual experiences for end users.

The NPG Visual Cloud Architecture team is responsible for product/system definition and architecture for Visual Cloud workloads from Datacenter to Edge covering the domains from Media, Graphics, Media Analytics and Immersive Media. NPG seeks a Senior Principle Engineer/Lead Architect to lead the NPG Visual Cloud Architecture team to drive pathfinding and solution definition to ensure that Intel architecture provides differentiation to customers for these emerging workloads.

Successful candidates will lead a cross-geo team of high performing architects, working with other organizations in Intel such as VPG, AIPG, SSG, IOTG to influence and create the right products and strategies to support Intel's Visual Cloud business through creation of solutions for the relevant workloads.

Responsibilities will include:

Analyze market direction and trends and ensure that Intel architecture provides differentiation to customers.

Performing pathfinding and surveying IP technologies for future product direction. Definition of system and software architecture for Visual Cloud Workloads. Drive requirements into silicon, platforms and systems.

Influencing software and hardware product Landing Zones across the organizations. Participation in cross org task forces and workgroups to drive industry standards and common understanding. Interacts with multiple technologists in the company and within the industry as well as between developers and project managers to evaluate feasibility of requirements and determine priorities for development.

Experience in GPU/Parallel architectures, GPGPU programming languages, FPGA, APIs, OS, drivers, kernels, compilers.

Experience in SoC & Platform architectures, including but not limited to Memory technologies, IO, Coherency, Board design, and Power.

Understanding of Power and Performance modelling principles and tools.

In addition, knowledge and experience in one or more of the following areas is desirable

Application areas such computer vision, speech recognition, image processing

Video and speech codecs

Video delivery and streaming methodologies

Augmented and Virtual Reality

Game development, streaming and deployment

Graphics Visualization and Ray Tracing

Understanding of Power and Performance modelling principles and tools.


Required Qualifications/Experience:

MS or PhD in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering or similar fields
10+ years of experience in one or more domains of Media Video and Voice,
3D Graphics, Remote Desktops, Cloud Gaming, Media Analytics & Computer Vision

Deep Learning.
5+ years Immersive Media (XR) including Augmented (AR) and Virtual (VR) reality, 360 Video.
5+ years experience bringing products from concept to product release
5+ Years of cross team influencing and delivery of requirements and architecture definitions.
8+ years of virtualization and virtual environments.
10+ years Experience in GPU/Parallel architectures, GPGPU programming languages, FPGA, APIs, OS, drivers, kernels, compilers.

In depth knowledge of Intel Architecture including ISA, SoC, and IO.

Knowledge of SoC & Platform architectures, including but not limited to Memory technologies, IO, Coherency, Board design, and Power.
