The Principal Engineer, Imaging Systems is a hands-on role and will be providing technical expertise and solutions for complex technical problems to the hardware & software engineering teams (which may include optical, mechanical, electronic mechatronic disciplines, and software). You will be a technical leader within a team that is designing world-class digital scanners for the industry.

Location: This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement which includes a combination of working onsite in the Vista, CA office and from your home.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Develop image analysis solutions to reliably detect and quantify imaging system artifacts such as digital noise, imperfect focusing, system gain drifts, etc.

  • Use technical experience to develop complex opto-mechanical and electro-mechanical microscope imaging devices and be recognized as a subject matter expert within the business.

  • Deliver robust and high-quality engineering solutions that are compliant with all applicable business and regulatory requirements.

  • Develop digital scanner architecture and contribute to the quality of the hardware & software engineering groups' deliverables.

  • Act as hands-on and remote escalation for manufacturing and field issues relating to focusing, color reproducibility, and other imaging system phenomena.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor in engineering, physics, optics, or elated major, or equivalent experience can be considered.

  • Qualified Engineer with minimum 8 years' relevant experience in developing and delivering complex opto-mechanical and/or electro-optical devices.

  • Experience with ISO13485 or FDA QSR 820.

  • Ability to make recommendations and decisions by balancing technical risks and business needs.

  • Experience with a variety of manufacturing methods and working with suppliers.

Preferred Experience & Skills

  • Interest in histology, pathology, or related fields

  • Experience programing during product development and for data analysis is highly desired

  • Demonstrated track record of delivering solutions to difficult problems within microscope or other imaging systems.

This position will be an onsite role in Vista, CA . Relocation assistance is also provided.

The salary range for this role is $130K-$175K. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
