The Principal Engineer for Customer Identity Access Management (CIAM) implements cutting-edge IAM technologies to build safe, modern, and secure authentication and authorization methods across our products and channels. Reporting to the Director of CIAM-Orchestration, this role works in a cross-functional agile development squad, collaborating closely with Information Protection and Risk Management (IPRM) teams and business partners. The position is responsible for implementing new authentication and authorization capabilities, ensuring a secure, innovative, and world-class experience for our customers. This role is crucial in developing market-leading digital solutions that enhance our customer experience and security across all platforms.

The Work Itself

  • Design, code, test, and debug new software, enhancements, and configurations of custom software and COTS packages

  • Develop APIs and Customer Journeys to orchestrate login experiences across authenticated digital platforms.

  • Collaborate with product owners, business contacts, and other developers to deliver quality working software.

  • Develop a deep understanding of the business domain and its interdependencies to create integrated solutions that meet cross-functional needs and align with organizational objectives.

  • Actively participate in Agile ceremonies and provide technical direction to solve business needs.

  • Coordinate and execute production deployments, leveraging knowledge of the company's IT Service Management (ITSM) processes to ensure successful releases and minimize risk.

  • Collaborate with software vendors to evaluate and implement new features, and promptly address product issues to ensure optimal system performance and user experience.

  • Work with Security teams identify and remediate security risks.

  • Continuously develop skills to stay among the best in the field.

The Skills You Bring

Required:

  • 5-7+ years of relevant experience, with a strong development or customer IAM background

  • Experience with IAM Orchestration tools (e.g., Transmit Security, ForgeRock) and implementing B2C systems.

  • Experience working with complex systems integrations, high availability solutions, and meeting rigorous SLAs. Hands-on experience architecting such solutions on the Cloud (AWS preferred)

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, NodeJS, Go, Python, C++, and/or C#.

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to effectively participate in Agile ceremonies.

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively navigate between strategic planning and technical implementation, ensuring alignment between objectives and solutions.

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or other relevant field of study

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of common fraud use cases and experience integrating with fraud detection and prevention services

  • Familiarity with IAM platforms (e.g., Radiant Logic, Okta, Auth0, Ping) and modern IAM protocols (OIDC, OAuth2.0)

  • Experience with DevOps tools like Terraform, Gitlab, CloudFormation, collaboration tools like Confluence, Jira, observability tools like Dynatrace, Splunk, LogRocket

  • Experience in developing and maintaining mobile applications for iOS and Android platforms, with an understanding of mobile security best practices and integration with Customer Identity and Access Management (CIAM) systems.

  • CISSP, CISM, or CISA certification
