Job Description:

Opportunities currently exist within Radar and Communication Products department of Hardware Engineering Center (HWEC). The department provides products sustainment engineering, Radar systems integration test, Special Test Solution design, Antenna measurements (NF, FF indoor/outdoor, & Compact ranges), and RF subsystems tests for S3 and EWS mission areas. This position is for Raytheon's Space and Airborne Systems (SAS) facility in Forest, MS.

The engineer will work with team of engineers to develop test processes, special test equipment, analysis tools and test requirements for Antenna measurement systems.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Antenna Subsystem and Array performance Analysis, Electromagnetic Analysis, Array Calibration and Integration and Test.

  • Development of IV&V plans, procedures and reports.

  • Perform root cause analysis and resolution of test failures.

  • Collaborate with other groups to ensure product under test meets design and performance requirements.

  • Participate in internal design and development review of Hardware and test environment.

Required skills:

  • 8+ years of relevant experience in design or testing of antenna or radar systems.

  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Applied Math, or equivalent discipline or MS in the same disciplines with 3+ years relevant work experience.

  • Proven experience in testing, troubleshooting and performing failure analysis on RF/MW Products.

  • Must have experience with either one of these electromagnetic simulation tools (HFSS, CST, ADS) and extensive use of MATLAB.

  • US Citizenship and the ability to obtain Secret Clearance within first year of employment are required.

Desired Skills:

  • General knowledge of systems engineering and integration processes for Radar and Electronic Warfare Systems.

  • Experience in Nearfield and Far-field ranges Antenna measurement and analysis.

  • Strong skills and experience performing analysis of technical data.

  • Experience with RF network analyzers and spectrum analyzers.

  • Excellent communication skills including report writing and presentations.

Required Education:

  • A BS degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent discipline.

Desired Education:

A MS degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent discipline 113734

Candidate will work under limited supervision to manage the production test process through one or more phases of the product life cycle, transition to production, sustained production and depot activities. This position is based in Forest, MS. Forest CMC manufactures and tests some of the most high tech tactical radar, electronic warfare and surveillance systems used in combat today. Tasks may include the following: * Lead root cause and corrective action investigations and present findings to management. * Assist and direct hourly personnel in non-routine fault isolation, diagnose, and repair of the product or test equipment. * Provide technical guidance to production test technicians and metrology personnel. * Monitor and improve the test process through analysis of predictive metrics of trends, failure modes, and test yields. * Assist in the development of test equipment and establishment of test requirements and procedures. * Accept new or modified test equipment for production use. * Ensure the operation of test equipment and associated work instructions are accurate. * Ensure test equipment and software meet the test requirements specified for the product. * Develop test flow charts and test capacity analysis. * Maintain changes to the test equipment technical data package which includes drawings, test instructions, test position manuals, and system software. Required Skills: * 6+ years of relevant experience in testing and/or technical design of radar and communication systems * Proven experience troubleshooting and performing failure analysis of RF circuits with demonstrated knowledge of associated measurement equipment. Must understand radar theory and application. * Experience leading cross functional investigations * Ability to understand and interpret Acceptance Test Requirements * Strong skills and experience performing analysis of technical data * Experience with testing and troubleshooting RF and Microwave component/subsystem such as up-converters, down converters, power amplifiers, waveform generators, RF modulators, and limiters * Lab experience with RF network analyzers and spectrum analyzers * Strong communication skills including report writing and presentations * U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.
