VIEW JOBS 3/29/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-06-27T00:00 Principal Engineer Fusion 360, Drawings Team Location: San Francisco, CA, or Portland, OR Position Overview As a global leader in 3D design, engineering, and entertainment software, Autodesk helps people imagine, design, and create a better world. Autodesk accelerates better design through an unparalleled depth of experience and a broad portfolio of software to give customers the power to solve their design, business, and environmental challenges. In addition to designers, architects, engineers, and media and entertainment professionals, Autodesk helps students, educators, and casual creators unlock their creative ideas through user-friendly applications. Autodesk's Fusion 360 product team has created an integrated software environment to help customers quickly design, develop, test, visualize, and manufacture products, parts, and assemblies using the latest maker technology available. But there is so much more we can do! Fusion 360 Drawings allows customers to quickly create 2D documentation of their designs and parts, documentation that is still a critical part of the manufacturing process. Fusion 360 Drawings leverages the industry-standard AutoCAD platform and intellectual property to provide a best-in-class documentation environment, with workflows that automate much of this task. We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our US-based team working on Fusion 360 Drawings. In this role you will be working with both AutoCAD and Fusion 360 source; both are massive products with millions of lines of code, meaning you get exposure to developing on two large commercially successful products at the same time! Successful candidates will be developers with several years' experience working with AutoCAD APIs, experience on both Windows and Mac platforms, and those that can embrace constant change. We are a small team, with opportunity for exposure to a broad set of responsibilities. If you are a strong candidate: * You can work on an Agile scrum team, with small user stories, 2-week sprints, per-sprint retrospectives, and a strong emphasis on test automation for all code changes. * You can work closely and iteratively with other developers, testers, and user experience designers. * You can work confidently in a complex development environment with two source code vaults and two separate applications communicating via inter-process communication. * You can competently navigate large legacy code bases and be able to troubleshoot problems and find surgical solutions within them. * You are flexible and can respond quickly to multiple priorities under changing conditions. * You program primarily in C using Microsoft Visual Studio on Windows, and Xcode on MacOS. * You are accustomed to preparing detailed submission documentation for code submissions, and you participate actively in code reviews. * You have strong written and verbal communication skills. * You are passionate about customer success. This position requires education and/or relevant experience with the following skills: * Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field * Several years' industry experience building and delivering robust, performant, and maintainable commercial applications * Development in C with object-oriented analysis and design methodologies * Windows programming and experience with Microsoft Visual Studio IDE * Mac programming and experience with Xcode IDE * Experience with AutoCAD application development, including graphics, command line interface, database, and functional capabilities * Experience with Fusion 360 a plus * Experience with Git, Jira, Python, JSON, and Jenkins a plus * Mechanical Engineering background a plus About Autodesk With Autodesk software, you have the power to Make Anything.
