This position could be located at our Williston, VT or Saco, ME Operations
Determines the technical approach, applies creativity and advanced concepts in the area of specialty in developing solutions. Provides support to a wide array of technical products.
Design experience with complex mechanisms. Prior weapons design experience preferred.
Responsible for technical leadership, developing and trading off hardware/software design concepts that satisfy requirements and constraints, configuration item design, verification of the design using modeling, simulation, analysis and test, documentation through formal reports, drawings and other technical data package items, and communication with the project team, business development, suppliers, industry partners, academia, customers and functional management.
Assignments may include both engineering development and production support roles, which will require a broad knowledge of the technical specialty and well as detailed product knowledge in order to safely and efficiently perform formal problem root cause analysis, corrective action planning and execution, developing labor and materials budgets, and identifying facility/test equipment needs.
Work is performed with minimal supervision guided by policies and procedures. There is considerable latitude in making decisions which may have relatively significant impact on the program/project. Clear and concise presentation of technical data at meetings and design reviews to peers, management and customers will be required. May also function in project leadership role on moderately sized project or report to more senior leader on large projects.

Required: Bachelor's degree in an applicable engineering, technical, or science discipline or equivalent experience
Desired: Master's degree in engineering. Eight to twelve years of relevant experience
