Shipt is building an on-demand delivery platform to help people get the things they need from stores they love. Since the beginning, we've relied on data to drive decision-making and power our fulfillment system. In this role, you'll help build the next generation of processes and algorithms to optimize our operations.
Develop a deep understanding of Shipt's operational problems and the kinds of data and technology needed to solve them.
Design and guide the implementation of core operational algorithms in collaboration with our Engineering and Operations teams.
Help increase the speed and confidence at which Shipt can make and execute on data-driven decisions through clear and concise technical communication.
5+ years of experience solving large-scale online optimization problems in marketplace, logistics, or supply chain settings.
3+ years of experience with machine learning and/or statistical modeling.
2+ years of experience with solving vehicle routing problems and working with routing technology like OSRM, Valhalla, GraphHopper, etc.
3+ years of experience using industrial solvers like Gurobi or IBM CPLEX.
2+ years of experience of integrating optimization solutions with modern backend architectures.
High degree of proficiency with Python.
Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Applied Mathematics or a similar area, or related experience.
Familiarity with cloud computing platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
Familiarity with on-demand and multi-sided marketplaces.
Familiarity with software engineering practices and technologies like system design, unit testing, and version control.
