The Role

The Data Platform Chapter in WI Technology organization is seeking an individual who can blend data engineering, cloud, and development expertise to build and maintain the Person MDM Platform. In this role, you will apply variety of technologies to develop innovative Data solutions and APIs. This position is a critical element to delivering Fidelity's promise of creating the best customer experiences in financial services.

The Principal Data Engineer in Person MDM will play active role in solution design, systems analysis, solution implementation co-ordination across multiple teams, solving key technical challenges and mentoring the junior developers in the team.

The Expertise You Have

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Mathematics required with 10+ years experience; Master's degree preferred

  • Experience in Mainframe (JCL, COBOL, VSAM, DB2, CICS) required

  • Experience in the development and deployment of Batch and CICS applications.

  • Good understanding on the usage of mainframe tools - ENDEVOR, FILE-AID, ABEND-AID, CONTROL-M

  • Experience in Oracle PL/SQL or understanding of working with relational databases and familiarity with ETL tools like Informatica is preferred.

  • Ability to communicate software engineering and/or development concepts and principles.

  • Experience with design and development of high TPS REST based Microservices using frameworks like Spring, Mybatis, Jersey etc., a plus

  • Ability to take up new challenges and explore new technology/tools

  • Demonstrate strategic thinking and ability to analyze business direction and problems, understand long term vision and risk in developing strategic technical solutions.

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Outstanding verbal and written communications skills and comfortable in summarizing technical information.

  • Ability to collaborate with other developers and co-workers including distributed team members.

  • Agile/Scrum experience or basic knowledge

The Team

We are looking for a strong data engineer to lead the team in application development within our data management space. This candidate will need to have sound communication skills, be able to comprehend business requirements, translate them into technical design specs and apply the same in the development process. We are seeking a highly motivated and adaptable team player with the ability to multi-task, and work under minimal supervision.
