Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal Cost Estimating Analyst located in Palmdale, CA. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Estimates labor and material costs of manufacturing and engineering based on request for proposal (RFP) data submitted by prospective customers

  • Analyzes specifications, including sketches, blueprints, bills of material, or sample layouts, and calculates production costs using labor and material pricing schedules and historical data

  • Collects cost data from functional representatives, subcontractors, and vendors

  • Computes cost estimates of raw materials or subcontracted work and labor

  • Prepares and maintains historical cost data

  • Creates cost models for cost estimating elements

  • Prepares cost reports and presents findings to management, contract personnel, proposal coordinators, customer representatives, price auditors, vendors, and subcontractors

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience in Business Management, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Engineering, or Estimating, or 3 years of stated experience with a Master's degree

  • Knowledge/familiarity with aerospace production operation's functions, tasks, and processes

  • Must possess and maintain a DoD secret clearance with the ability to gain special access (investigation must have taken place within the last 6 years)

  • Proficient in MS Excel and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experienced in Military contracts RFP / Change systems and requirements

  • Operations touch labor improvement curve theory modeling and theory

  • Proven presenter to all levels of management and customers

  • Experienced in negotiations

  • Active DoD security clearance

Northrop Grumman's Aerospace Systems is looking for an Executive Visit Specialist 1 (Associate Conference Events Representative) for our facility located in Palmdale, CA, as well as supporting other sites as necessary. This position reports to the Customer Engagement organization responsible for the strategic planning and execution of all key on-site customer visits. The Specialist will partner with the Executive Visit Lead to manage all the logistical planning and execution of a world class experience for our high level executive on-site visits and events, demonstrating Northrop Grumman's commitment to performance excellence and innovation. Due to the expanse of Northrop Grumman's Space Park campus, the candidate must become familiar with the buildings and programs onsite. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Identifies and secures appropriate venues and support team, develops the event flow, prepares movement plans, and conducts facility walkthroughs to ensure site readiness * Contributes and communicates logistics in all planning and preparation meetings with the Stakeholders to ensure the visit plan is aligned with overall strategic goals and objectives * Defines meeting/presentation needs and ensures closure to actions * Handles scheduling, agenda management and preparation for visits and events, prepares and distributes the appropriate working documents (artifacts) * Ensures participants are prepared thorough dry-run visit/event preparation sessions and walkthroughs * Maintains historical database and reporting documents * Communicates visits/events to all stakeholders * Ability to handle physical demands, such as standing and walking for long periods of time. The successful candidate will possess the following: * Superior critical thinking, organization, communication, and relationship-building skills * Ability to demonstrate exceptional judgment, professionalism and poise * Must be capable of setting priorities and working under pressure * Strong oral and written communication skills; presentation skills; and collaboration skills are required * High level and attention to detail * Directs, plans and organizes internal and external business related functions, symposiums, conferences, program events, banquets, and VIP briefings. Develops on-site and off-site plans and budgets. Investigates, coordinates, arranges and contracts for major hotel accommodations and services, charter air and ground transportation, communications and facilities support, client and guest entertainment, passport and VISA clearances, program functions, and similar activities to support company marketing and customer relations. Directs multiple service contractors and subcontractors orchestrating large scale events supporting highest level company executives, international dignitaries and government officials.
