The Accounting Department of Raytheon Missile Systems in Tucson works closely with Product Line Business Managers, Financial Planners, and Contracts Managers. Our department is responsible for all financial reporting to Corporate. This provides an excellent opportunity for networking and building contacts within Finance, other RMS organizations, Corporate, and other Raytheon Business Units. Our department is involved in various high visibility teams across Raytheon that drive policies, establish financial guidelines, and set the direction of our financial organizations for the future.

The Cost Accounting Team oversees all Missile Systems' cost accounting practices, including material accumulation and cost flow. The selected team member will develop a well-rounded understanding of Missile Systems cost accounting structure, cost accumulation and distribution that will provide the foundation for continued broadening of financial experience at Raytheon.

The PRISM Finance Lead is responsible for overseeing and performing various cost accounting activities related to material costing, inventory management and support pool labor allocations. This individual will work with a team of 3-4 individuals to ensure costs recorded in SAP are posted timely, accurately, and in compliance with FAR, CAS, and established Company policies and procedures.

The PRISM Finance Lead provides full service support to internal and external customers, including frequent collaboration with Finance and Inventory Management groups. This position oversees daily activities related to cost accumulation as well as supporting strategic initiatives for the business. This individual serves as the RMS Finance representative on the Corporate MMAS Council and supports DCMA/DCAA audit requests and cost impact analysis for accounting change disclosures. In this role, the PRISM Finance Lead guides the accounting team on daily activities, assists in troubleshooting errors, defines cost accounting best practices, and regularly monitors the health of the business system and processes.

This position requires heavy coordination with functional areas across Raytheon and the ability to formulate, document and communicate changes to existing business processes. This position will require participation in meetings with upper management in order to explain complex issues revolving around cost accumulation and distribution and provide potential solutions.

The ideal candidate must be able to operate in a challenging, fast-paced, team environment. They must also demonstrate an ability to take ownership of their process area and to continually focus on improving processes and efficiencies.This position requires the building of positive relationships with our internal and external customers throughout Raytheon.

Minimum Required Skills:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or Business and minimum 6 years of experience; or 4 years of experience with related Master's Degree,

  • Self starter with excellent organizational skills and the ability to work with other Finance/Business team members

  • Demonstrate an understanding/working knowledge of PRISM/APEX to include material and support labor reporting and analysis

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Powerpoint, Word)

  • Ability to work independently and also provide guidance to other PRISM Finance team members

Highly Desired Skills:

  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of Missile Systems cost structure

  • Proficient working knowledge of the Material Management Accounting System (MMAS) requirements as it relates to Inventory Management

  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS)

  • Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
