Job Title: Principal Consultant

Slalom's New York office is currently seeking a talented Principal Consultant to join our Account Management team! The Principal Consultant is responsible for large or complex project execution or multi-project execution with a focus on excellent client relationships, delivery oversight and demonstrated thought leadership. This individual will also help set strategic direction, deliver solutions, support sales efforts, and help with recruiting, account management, and operational aspects.

Responsibilities:

  • Billable utilization range of 85-95%

  • Identifies opportunities for growth/maturation of Slalom Offerings, and guides the direction for that growth

  • Provides oversight and governance of all sold/managed engagements

  • Responsible for project financials to achieve target financial results

  • Supports business development with the proper information (creation of SOW), tools and subject matter expertise to sell engagements within the offering

  • Develops and delivers best practices, delivery templates, POV papers

  • Maintains awareness of industry best practices and business levers for a particular client list and understands how Slalom Practice Areas interact

  • Oversees project delivery quality assurance

  • Assigns tasks when resources are between projects

  • Facilitates client satisfaction surveys (where applicable)

  • May have team management responsibilities of 3-7 Consultants

  • Support recruiting and onboarding of new employees

  • Involved with local and national strategy initiatives

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years management/leadership experience

  • Advanced project delivery including all aspects of program/project management

  • Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully across all levels of the organization

  • Excellent negotiation, conflict management, problem solving and decision making skills

  • Proven track record of client/employee satisfaction

Participate on multi-disciplinary work teams to achieve successful execution of complex implementation projects. Adhere to corporate policies and procedures including SDLC and Data Governance. Assist in training and communication of program standards and actions. Ensure business needs are met in a disciplined and consistent manner. Maintain a governance and quality scorecard to monitor ongoing program activities. Confirm scope between technology and business and align to a release based on business priorities and capacity. Act as liaison between business and technology, to drive communications and align business and tech priorities across the program. Coordinate completion of corrective actions to resolve issues. Maintain existing issue reporting processes including JIRA, ALM and enforcing an issue management workflow. Coordinate tracking and documentation of all business and technical documents, and leverage tools including VISIO, Word, and Excel to document process and requirements. Deliver high quality deliverables including Project Plans, RACI matrix, RAID log, and Defect Management. Conduct current state assessment on User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities and operating model across Wealth Management Operations (WM Ops) within agreed upon scope. Leverage tools like Surveymatic as medium to conduct surveys. Manage testing efforts across QA and UAT- testing delivers include, test plan creation, test cases and scenarios, test execution, defect management and completion report. Leverage methodologies including Waterfall and Agile Frameworks to help with execution of Projects and Programs. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Management of Technology or foreign equivalent and five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in job offered or related position: performing business process mapping; utilizing Waterfall and Agile methodologies; assisting on quality assurance projects; utilizing Scrum; supporting team members on projects; conducting current state testing analysis; performing user acceptance testing and system integration testing, including planning, execution and reporting; leveraging SDLC process to drive software projects from initiation to implementation; developing and coordinating critical field and client communications; and performing front-to-back project delivery including analyzing requirements, performing data mapping, conducting workshops between operations and IT, defining testing strategy, planning and execution with testing team, identifying risks and issues and overseeing implementation. 40% travel required to various and unanticipated Capco and client locations.
