Principal Consultant for Application Development

Our Principal Consultants are team players that focus on client delivery and project management. Oakwood delivers software solutions on the Microsoft stack with technologies ranging from custom .Net software development using the latest frameworks to cutting edge web site design and development.

This role includes analyzing client processes, understanding client's business landscape, defining requirements, and then expertly delivering solutions and strategies. A Principal Consultant must be technically competent, capable of supervising and leading project teams, and able to manage complex projects.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Experience working as a Consultant (not a contractor)

  • Human capital strategic planning, performance management, communication and change management

  • Responsible for the development of team members

  • Managing client relationships and expectations

  • Software Architecture/design

  • Team leadership/mentorship

  • Hands-on development

  • Delivery of technical presentations

  • Technical research/recommendations

  • 7+ years of experience as a senior .NET developer and Architect

  • .NET 3.5 or higher

  • C#, ASP.NET

  • ASP.NET MVC

  • Angular.js

  • Front-end web technologies such as JavaScript, CSS3 and HTML5

  • Familiarity with LINQ, WCF

  • Azure experience

  • Application Lifecycle using TFS

Desirable, but not required:

  • Entity Framework

  • CMS experience preferably Kentico or Sitecore

  • A Microsoft Certification or two

  • Bachelors' Degree in an IT-related field

Brief Overview The Principal Consultant for Change Enablement is a utility player, often working independently across a portfolio of projects in collaboration with internal resources and external clients. The Principal Consultant develops and executes culturally appropriate change strategies that enable successful cloud-based technology deployments.
