Within CO+I, the Datacenter Construction team is looking to fill a critical and high-profile role of Datacenter Construction Leader. The Datacenter Construction team is responsible for delivering datacenter capacity for Microsoft's cloud business. We have a portfolio of complex, multi-disciplinary, multi-million, multi-year datacenter construction and lease projects. As a member of the Leadership team, you will lead the construction management of datacenters globally for both build and leased sites.

  • 20+ years of successful, executive level project management in global construction, financial accountability, fast-growing programs

  • Leader experienced at recruiting, managing and developing an organization that promotes diversity and inclusion

  • Proven experience in safety leadership internationally

  • Strong ethics in management of large capital projects

  • Excellent communication, leadership & influencing skills. Demonstrated ability to use data to influence & drive decisions

  • Experienced in Project Management and Delivery ("Building & Managing world-class teams")

  • Experience with datacenter and cloud infrastructure, co-location/lease provider, large-scale engineering, or construction required

Security Clearance Requirements:
Candidates must be able to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

  • Candidates must have an active TS and be willing to upgrade to TS/SCI (with full scope polygraph) or have an active TS/SCI and be willing to upgrade to TS/SCI (with full scope polygraph). This role will require candidates to maintain the TS/SCI (with full scope polygraph) clearance.

  • Citizenship Verification: This position requires verification of US Citizenship to meet federal government security requirements

  • Take accountability for on schedule delivery and financial outcomes of active projects

  • Assesses the construction industry and the broader business environment to account for market conditions in plans & objectives

  • Partner with general contractors to drive safety focus & improvement initiatives into construction projects

  • Communicate priorities and drive consistent focus across construction sites globally
