Our client, a cutting edge, high-quality producer of Honeycomb composites, is seeking an accomplished and innovative Chemical Engineer or Chemist with a strong background in the research and development of adhesives and coatings. You will be instrumental in product development and project execution and should bring a high level of technical knowledge and experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams.
You will act as a scientific advisor on a broad range of technical and manufacturing issues and projects. RESPONSIBILITIES Design and supervise the development of coatings, adhesives, and processes to meet customer requirements. Plans, organizes, and executes research and development on new or existing projects, products, or processes.
Develop test programs to determine compatibility of products under various chemical exposures. Formulate new adhesives and coatings to meet various customer or product performance demands. Develop and determine chemical solutions for the surface treatment of materials to be coated and/or bonded.
Write process instructions on how to mix materials and evaluate for quality and consistency. Evaluate quality and consistency of adhesives, resins, and substrates. Monitor safety on all operations involving chemicals and train operators on safety procedures.
Recommend and evaluate equipment for mixing chemicals, ensuring safety. Serve as contact person for all emissions and chemical regulatory matters. Scientific advisor to all Business Unit Managers.
Participate in improving our product, processes, equipment, and methods. Perform all reasonably related duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS Bachelors Degree in Chemical Engineering or similar field 15 years of progressive work experience in the chemical field Must be able to work independently High analytical skills Ability to find solutions to unusual and difficult problems PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS Masters Degree in engineering/scientific discipline 20 years of progressive work experience in chemical field
