Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Principal Business Development Manager to drive growth and expand our selection for the customer. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales, business development, and strategic partnerships, with a proven track record of identifying and securing new business opportunities. You will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic initiatives to drive revenue growth, forge strategic partnerships, and build strong relationships with key stakeholders.Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify new business opportunities and develop strategic partnerships to drive revenue growth and market expansion.

  • Build and maintain relationships with key clients, partners, and industry stakeholders to drive business development efforts.

  • Lead the development and execution of business development strategies and initiatives to achieve sales targets and business objectives.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop tailored solutions and proposals that meet the needs of clients and partners.

  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, competitive threats, and opportunities for growth.

  • Lead negotiations and contract discussions with clients and partners to secure new business opportunities.

  • Monitor and analyze sales performance metrics to track progress against sales targets and identify areas for improvement.

  • Stay abreast of industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor activities to inform business development strategies.

  • Mentor and coach junior members of the business development team, providing guidance and support to foster their professional growth.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development, sales, or a related field, preferably in brick & mortar retail, omnichannel retail, or ecommerce.

  • Proven track record of identifying and securing new business opportunities and driving revenue growth.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.

  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute business development strategies that align with organizational goals.

  • Excellent negotiation and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate value propositions and close deals.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, analyze trends, and draw actionable insights.

  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire cross-functional teams to achieve sales targets.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.

  • Passion for business development and a commitment to delivering exceptional results.

Pay & Benefits

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. At Coupang, your base pay is one part of your total compensation.

The base pay for this position ranges from $138,000/year in our lowest geographic market to $169,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
