The Role:
The Technology Development group at Life Edit discovers new genome editing systems and establishes new editing capabilities and optimizes them to support efforts developing curative gene editing therapies and gene edited cell therapies. We are looking for an enthusiastic, competent, and self-motivated Principal Associate Scientist with a background in mammalian cell culture and genome editing to help expand our discovery efforts.
Here's What You'll Do:

Assist in the team's efforts in the evaluation and optimization of Life Edit gene editing systems to identify systems for further therapeutic application and development.
Collaboratively develop and evaluate candidate systems through high throughput screening, engineering, directed evolution, and selection assays to discover and identify gene editing systems with desired characteristics.
Perform and troubleshoot protocols for the delivery of Life Edit gene editing systems to mammalian cell lines.
Manage and maintain cell lines for the team.
Analyze experimental data and present scientific results at team research meetings.
Follow advancements published in the literature in the fields of gene editing and gene therapy as well as those presented at conferences.

Requirements:

Principal Associate Scientist: Bachelor's degree in biology, biochemistry or a related field with an additional 4+ years of research experience or a master's degree with 0-1+ years of additional research experience.
Significant experience in culturing, transfecting, and assaying mammalian cell lines.
Experience with current molecular biology techniques including in vitro transcription and translation, DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, and NGS.
Previous research experience with genome editing technologies, nucleases, and/or DNA modifying or binding proteins is a plus.
Scientific background in biochemistry is preferred.
Demonstrated ability to plan, execute, and analyze experiments independently.
Experience with following SOPs, maintaining, and organizing ELN documentation, and abiding by all safety guidelines.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaborate in a team-oriented environment.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
Previous industry experience strongly preferred.
Proven record of scientific excellence.
