Why Mayo Clinic

This position will focus on the Enterprise Office of Access Management's support of Mayo Clinic's Digital Practice strategy and is one of multiple postings across the EOAM units. This position will report to the EOAM Access Technologies & Systems unit.

The primary responsibilities involve digital patient self-scheduling projects including Epic and artificial intelligence-enhanced digital solutions. Knowledge of Epic's Cadence module is preferred but not required. Knowledge of scheduling systems and technology/systems integration is required.

Position can be based out of Mayo Clinic locations: Rochester, Florida, or Arizona.

Position description

Acts as lead technical expert in the execution of overarching Access Technologies and Systems (ATS) operations and project related work. Has broad understanding of Mayo Clinic's access management systems, workflows and operations including the Practice's vision for access management to influence and execute strategy.

Demonstrated agility in working with rapidly developing project scope and plan. Synthesizes and drives solutions between operations, work units, suppliers and technical area. Provides direction, coaching, training, and mentorship for team members and colleagues, as appropriate, in alignment with the project, program, or organizational structure.

Responsible for the development of the business analysis approach. Takes a data-driven approach to reach decisions that support and advance business objectives. Ensures the developed solutions satisfy the stated requirements and business objectives.

Maintains "thought-leader" level technical expertise of software programs or modules related to patient access or staff scheduling, including interactions between modules (e.g., Cadence, MyChart, Radiant, Cupid, etc). Expert understanding of the enterprise business environment and the impact ATS has on the business environment including broad patient access implications. Functions as an expert liaison between clinical, business, and technical areas during the planning process and provides oversight throughout the project cycle. Works independently on projects and assignments within scope of ability and authority escalating the most complex issues or those requiring leadership approvals to the appropriate individual.

May regularly assume a team leadership role to direct and coordinate the work of other staff, which includes assigning tasks to staff taking into consideration balancing workloads, skill sets, technical knowledge, and criticality of the tasks. Serves as a consultant or tutor, coaching others in specific technical areas of expertise and as a technical focused member of the ATS Leadership team.

Qualifications

Bachelor's and 9 years experience in business analysis, business administration, engineering, information science, health or science-related field OR Master degree and 7 years' experience in business analysis, business administration, engineering, information science, health or science-related field. Experience with application implementation and optimization, data analysis, process improvement techniques (Lean, Six Sigma), OR clinic operations throughout a large healthcare institution is required.

License or certification

Cadence/Epic certification is required. Individuals without relevant Epic certifications will be required to successfully complete the certification process within six months of hire.

Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum salary every 2 weeks is approx $3661.60, based on a full-time position.

This team manages and maintains standard monitoring tools used in collaboration with application and infrastructure support teams as well as developers to detect events and trigger alerts as they occur. The successful candidate will work in a team environment to expand performance monitoring services to our customers by providing technical recommendations for alerting based on data analysis and resulting in the design and implementation of automated workflows. The candidate will work effectively across the IT department requiring knowledge and experience in the areas of systems, database and network administration. Demonstrated experience with monitoring tools is required to include Splunk (Log Analytics), AppDynamics (APM), and/or PRTG. PowerShell scripting, JavaScript, .NET, and ServiceNow ITSM/ITOM Process experience is preferred. Under general supervision and guidance, the IT Systems Engineer is responsible for the maintenance and support of moderately complex systems software and hardware computer systems at multiple Mayo Clinic sites. The IT Systems Engineer will actively monitor and respond to technical hardware and software problems utilizing hardware and software testing tools and techniques as well as assist in managing overall system capacity. He/she may interface with vendor support service groups or other external support teams to ensure proper escalation during outages or periods of degraded system performance. The IT Systems Engineer will also be expected to contribute to the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of custom system software, and/or the installation and maintenance of purchased systems software, plus the configuration and support of hardware systems across Mayo Clinic; produce and maintain documentation such as systems requirements, designs, resource inventories and plans as requested by the work unit leadership. Work will be reviewed for quality, timeliness, and adequacy at predetermined milestones. It is important that the individual develops and maintains effective relationships with the I.T. technical staff and management across all Mayo sites in the support of multiple projects simultaneously. Qualifications A Bachelor's degree and training/experience in IT technology; OR an Associate degree plus 3 years of demonstrated technical experience.
