Job Purpose (Job Summary):

The Cloud Engineer is accountable for architecting and designing comprehensive solutions that meet business requirements in support of a given project or capability. The Cloud Engineer will be accountable for partnering with key roles (e.g. Application teams or other Infrastructure functions) to create solutions that are aligned to the architecture principles, leverage common solutions and services, and meet the financial targets (cost and benefits) as defined by Infrastructure leadership. Cloud Engineers at Invesco assess a project's technical feasibility, implementation risks and benefits to the user, while working to ensure a successful implementation. The Cloud Engineer will work with business partners and Application representatives to understand the functional requirements, coordinate the formulation of technical designs with the Infrastructure Engineering team, and oversee the implementation of the solution to ensure compliance to requirements and technical standards. A Cloud Engineer must have broad knowledge of all different aspects of the technical landscape, as well as robust business domain knowledge. The Cloud Engineer will be responsible for validating a complex architecture and ensuring its successful implementation. Business communication, project management and technical leadership are all important trait of a successful engineer in the Invesco Technology organization. The Cloud Engineer will be expected to lead in the development of the technical solution or offering, in translating the business needs into technical requirements. They will be expected to handle complex, long-term focused projects involving multiple disciplines or business units, while providing direction to high priority or special projects undertaken by different business areas. The Cloud Engineer will also provide high-level specialized technical support and consultation to business and IT management.
Key Responsibilities / Duties:
Design of a Secure Cloud Foundation, repeatable cloud patterns, templates, and/or accelerators to enable faster business IT adoption of cloud service.
Development of process and code required to transform traditional services to modern architectures
Lead large scale and complex cloud service development programs
Consult, Advise and Facilitate the implementation of cloud practices and services
Promote, mentor and educate the client community on Cloud Adoption, Operating Guidelines/Principles, and Cloud Services/Solutions
Build a strong relationship and rapport with key stakeholders, including business partners, Application leads and other Infrastructure functions (Engineering, Operations, etc.)
Technical leadership and exposure across a broad scale of tools, technologies, and architecture models.
Ability to engage with technical members from other teams to collaborate on designs and specifications for cross-functional technical solutions
Keeps abreast of current developments and trends in Infrastructure and assigned business domain through networking, continuing education and industry/technology publications
Work Experience / Knowledge:
Advanced Experience with AWS services like: CloudFormation, IAM Policies, EC2, Lambda, S3, Glacier, Multi-Region VPC, Route53, Security Groups, ALB/ELB/NLB, CloudWatch, etc
AWS Certified Solution Architect, or ability to pursue certification within 18-24 months of hire
Financial services experience in Asset Management preferred

Knowledge of mutual fund industry, data and processes highly preferred.

Regular working hours; flexibility of timing is available depending upon the project or assignment.
Frequent sitting and intermittent walking is also required.
Hours may include occasional evenings and/or weekends. Frequency and duration to be determined by manager.
