Job Description:

This is a national level role in the Raytheon Information Systems (RIS) Engineering Solutions Pipeline Optimization & Automation team, part of Digital Technology. This position will be located in either El Segundo, North Texas, Aurora or the Northeast supporting software engineers in multiple regions/sites, with the primary responsibility of developing and deploying engineering tools and capabilities via automated packaged solutions. This role delivers service excellence around the following activities: interfacing with program engineers and management; coordinating resources to provide appropriate tool related services; supplier engagement for roadmaps and issue resolution; compliance hardening; helping users on programs effectively use CI/CD pipelines; troubleshooting tool related problems; tailoring tools to specific program needs, and identifying and documenting best practices.

The duties of this job include but are not limited to:

  • Apply extensive technical expertise in Software Engineering

  • Engage and consult with programs on the implementation of Software Engineering solutions

  • Act as a change agent to steer programs in the use of and adoption of strategic solutions and emerging technologies

  • Develop and deploy continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) packaged solutions to programs

  • Be able to create and implement effective regression testing to maintain the quality of our packaged "on the shelf" solutions.

  • Develop upgrade installations for a variety of engineering tools including testing, data backups, DFARS compliance, tool integrations & configurations

  • Provide technical knowledge for automation technologies such as; Ansible, Chef, Chocolatey & SCCM.

  • Identify, document, and champion software engineering automation best practices and improvements which help engineers be more productive

  • Engage in new technology investigations and evaluations from strategic vendors. For high ROI capabilities, be part of a team to lead the pilot and deployment of these emerging technologies

Required Skills:

  • Experience with a CI/CD tool suite, and knowledge of how they work and are integrated.

  • Experience with Containerization & Orchestration: Docker, containerd, Kubernetes

  • Experience with automated deployment; Ansible, Chef, Chocolatey, NuGet & SCCM

  • Experience with Windows and UNIX. Admin experience with either or both highly desirable

  • Experience with scripting and markup languages; Python, Perl, YAML

  • Strong critical thinking with the ability to troubleshoot / solve complex problems

  • Strong communication, presentation, and people skills with ability to interface with senior lead engineers and program management personnel

  • Ability to multi-task, to support multiple customers, and to work within specific schedule and cost constraints

  • Strong teamwork skills - The ability to interact productively with end users, analysts, other personnel, and customers in a diverse team setting

  • Ability to work and collaborate in remote virtual environment where team members are not co-located

  • Self-motivated and able to function with minimal oversight

  • Self-directed with good organizational skills

Desired Skills:

  • 5 years Program experience in the area of Software Engineering

  • 5 years DevOps support experience on one or more programs

  • Strong understanding and implementation experience with SCRUM / Lean / Agile / Scaled Agile methodologies

  • Experience with Cloud technologies and strategies

  • Knowledge and experience with software engineering best practices and work instructions

  • Customer engagement/relationship management experience or prior consulting experience

  • Detailed working knowledge of DevSecOps processes

  • Strong computer skills and/or programming experience in one or more languages

  • 5 years process experience generating process documentation/tooling aids and instructing others in a SW process area

  • Existing Secret or Top Secret DoD security clearance

Required Education (including Major):

  • Typically, Minimum of 5 years professional experience with a BS/BA in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math or related technical degree186245

Job Description: The selected applicant will join a team of talented engineers with integration and test of sophisticated naval and maritime systems in support of the Cooperative Engagement Capability (CEC) program as part of Advanced Networking Solutions (ANS).
