Job Summary

The Pricing Strategy Manager is considered a pricing expert within S-L for improved brand profitability through price realization. This role will be responsible for bringing visibility, transparency and analytical rigor to both base and promotional pricing actions.

Essential Job Duties

  • Identify pricing opportunities across the S-L enterprise.

  • Develop pricing recommendations and quantify the impact of potential pricing action to S-L and to competition.

  • Monitor pricing for both S-L and competition.

  • Monitor and evaluate base and promotional pricing tactics and strategy on an ongoing basis: price curves, ladders and price elasticities.

  • Provide overall pricing recommendations to Business Unit and Sales Strategy leaders.

  • Assist in the development of channel strategic plan and Annual Operating Plan.

  • Lead the development of cross channel pricing guardrails and guidelines.

  • Provide analytical & strategic foundation to improve Business Unit profitability through pricing, channel and PPG mix.

  • Conduct channel and PPT level analysis to identify tactical pricing actions based on profitability and strength of brand.

  • Consolidate and create summary reports on pricing performance across brands, products, regions and accounts to develop lessons learned.

  • Maintain and distribute monthly base price and promotion related input for "pricing scorecards", including competitor activity.

  • Support analytics for annual operation plans and to Sales on promotion decisions.

  • May perform other duties as required.

Scope of Responsibility

Position has authority to act and make decisions independently based on foundational direction from direct supervisor and/or other members of the Senior Team. No direct reports or budgetary responsibility but will assist in developing pricing strategy and annual operating plan for the Company.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

  • Experience working within a "Business Unit" environment

  • Advanced written and communication skills, and ability to interact and influence mid-senior level management.

  • Analytical skills; ability to follow detailed instructions to perform complicated financial analyses, as well as, determine basic analyses to support e regions in their pricing decisions.

  • Computer skills; advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint is required.

Education and Experience

Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 4 years pricing or business strategy experience. Experience working in a Business Unit structure preferred; MBA a plus.

Physical Demands

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk or hear, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stoop or kneel. The employee must be able to sit most of the day, typing and using the phone.

Work Environment

Office environment; noise level is usually moderate.

Travel Required
10 - 20% travel required.
